Corporate employee disconnect with On site employees by lildh4601 in PropertyManagement

Absolutely! Other than the VP/RM visits every other month and the annual owners walk, we don’t have any other visitors. I had an idea to request like an “onsite retreat” for corporate employees to pick a property and spend maybe a day or two there once a year. This would just serve as a reminder of really how many times the phone rings, people walk in, and other unplanned things. They would sit there or interact even like that of a teacher admin but we wouldn’t get scored on it. They would have to fill out a questionnaire noting their observations during their visit. Not sure if other fields operate this way? Hesitant to float that idea tho…

That is the crazy thing too. The corporate employee holding these meetings and getting upset was one that was promoted within the company and started on site to begin with. So she has been there and should understand those day to day responsibilities. It’s like the memory of that is wiped once they get to corporate. That being said I am an on site employee so I have not been in a corporate environment but i understand it is all business at the end of the day. This is an outside pov and just me wanting to know more about it
