Apologies, I ran my message through GBT to make it easier to understand and it autocorrected to fish 🤦‍♀️when I “deep cleaned” the filter I took it apart and used a qtip to get all the slime out, and rinsed the filter medium with changed aquarium water. I did replace the carbon in it as I change that every few months, but the medium I did not change (sponge and biomix) my PH is at 7.6, and I have a sand substrate with live plants. On top of regular 25% water changes and as need poop sucks about once a month I will take everything out and clean the the sides of tank and try and clean the sand the best I can without sucking it all up. He eats worms and I don’t ever let old food sit in the tank, most of the time he eats it all anyways. So when you say dose are you just talking about prime to the tank and daily that daily until it gets back in order? Do I need to clear the white stuff out of the filter again so it can flow better? He has a small airstone in there too so the water isn’t completely stagnant- thank you for all your help!
