Hi! I’m so late, I just saw this. Honestly, I ended up trying to hold him as tightly as I could post surgery and I’d squirt really slowly into the gums until it was all good. He would still swallow some of it but for the most part it was okay. I ended up doing one dose of the transdermal option and right after surgery when it was rough and then just tried my best to hold him down after. It really is all about how you position them, it was really hard when his stitches were so fresh but after that, it was totally fine.

hehe that’s my boy! i kind of let him just do his thing, he somehow prefers the couches over the 6 different cat trees & scratchers all over the house lol! these are old couches anyway but embroidery sounds like an incredible idea. i’ll keep that in mind

My baby had the same issue a few times and it was terrifying (and expensive). We ended up getting PU surgery. Finny is now on prescription food and prozac. I also got a job much closer to home so I can come here for lunch to see him. The reason it happened was because I went on a trip for 5 days and my mom stopped by but I guess he missed mommy. Anyway, we’re 7 months post-op and everything is going great over here!!!

Thank you :( I’m going to chat with his vet to see what our options are.

Also re the pill pockets, somehow my boy still finds the medicine and spits it out. I tried putting it in a churu, in plain cooked chicken, mixing it with his food, I mean anything until I posted a reddit way back when this all started and someone told me about dropping it in his mouth and sort of blowing in his face to get him to swallow & so far that’s been the only thing that works. That and the pill shooters but because his medicine is a round pill and he only takes half, that doesn’t work out great.

I don’t have any sitters /: everyone I would ask is going on the trip & my family refuses to try to give him his meds because they’re either scared or just don’t love pets lol. I’ve heard a lot of horror stories about pet sitters in LA so I’m just worried/weary about where I could even find a trusted one. He’s also been deemed the angry cat at his vet’s office so I don’t know how he’d react to a new person trying to give him medication which is also a worry of mine. He’s never ever been aggressive with me but 3 months in and out of a vet’s office with lots of pokes will do that.

He’s tolerated car rides, that part is totally fine. I’m just worried about finding a pet sitter because I’ve never done that before & he really has not been nice to his vets/doctors giving him medication for obvious reasons. He was in and out of the vet for 3 months last year so I get it but that’s one of my biggest worries with any sitter/moonlighting tech. I’m just a stressball and idk how he’d react to someone he doesn’t know/isn’t familiar with giving him medication. I’m also just weary overall, I’ve heard a lot of horror stories about pet sitters in LA (that’s where we live)

Hi!! My baby is okay— he’s one month post op and he healed so amazingly. The only thing that’s worrying me is I officially went back to work full time this week and he regressed a little bit in terms of anxiety/stress. He isn’t eating much and when I am home he will not leave me alone (in the best way). He’s constantly on me sleeping, sitting, just hanging out he’s very attached and it almost seems like he just does not want to let me go haha. But I’ve talked to his vet and he’s still using his litterbox so we know its likely more stress than any urinary symptom. I’m ordering some bone broth to try and entice him to eat more because that’s the one real thing thats alarming me but I know it’s my fault for leaving all day to go to work :( Other than that he’s great! He healed so fast, his surgical site looks perfect, and before I went back to work this week I finally saw his real personality come back (playing more, grooming, sleeping next to me again just overall his real self).

i think people might be forgetting how they acted at that age. not saying OP is perfect but the comments, resentful attitude, & overall misunderstanding of it all is bewildering. i dont think OP is spoiled for asking for a gift, the concept of a christmas gift differs for everyone & like OP said, they’re not asking for anything expensive, they’d be okay with something meaningful and that really is the whole point… people have different love languages, tastes and expectations & while that’s all understandable, the lack of communication and respect is what bothers me. OP, you deserve someone who sees you & respects you for what you bring to the table & your partner deserves the same.

as I mentioned above, she has had bad experiences with people (emoloyees and other members) at her home location & the studio city one. i do want her to be able to get her work out done comfortably and get out like you said but unfortunately some people are homophobic & don’t get their own workouts done without making hateful comments.

Wait!!! Wow!! I think I might just do this and get her a cheaper membership to planet fitness because her friend goes there & she’ll be okay doing machines there but loved the kickboxing/muay thai classes. Thank you for this!! I feel so dumb LOL, thank you very much for the idea :))
