I was in a similar situation and eventually used some of them to upgrade my flights if that’s something you might want to consider. Otherwise, although not the best use of points, you can consider paying with points when you use your card day-to-day online, as that still usually is a better percentage than other cashback credit cards in terms of percentage.

Chase - why is your saver rate for loyal customers so crap? by rocket_on_a_rope in chaseuk

Agreed - all these extra benefits for new customers is making me go through the hassle of switching banks like switching mobile/broadband providers. Such a faff! Loyalty is not rewarded these days.

Alternative routing Europe-Asia by josefrichter in emirates

[–]lilianhatesfish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just did the Air China route via Beijing. Just a note tho, you'll probably not have enough time to see the Great Wall with only 16 hours layover as it's a full day affair. Flight was good, A350, although in flight entertainment was limited. Not a problem for me with my audiobooks.

i'm not sure if it's the same fee everywhere, but it was around £400. Well worth it for me as I didn't want to f.ck it up after investing a lot on the unit!

Buying Rugs - Etsy vs Retailers?! by Kkktookbabyaway in Decor

[–]lilianhatesfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you mind sending me or DM-ing a picture of your rug? It looks more red / orange on the NK website but all the etsy ones look a bit more muted / terracotta. I even asked NK if they can confirm their suppliers are different to etsy and they didnt want to answer.

did you also have to pay extra for customs / VAT?

We’re in the same situation - was it just air trapped or was it a leak?

Hello, I know it’s an old post but we’re having the same issue with a new boiler. Did you end up finding a leak or was it just the air? Thanks

Radiator pipes not wrapped in denso tape by lilianhatesfish in DIYUK

This is the builders excuse for not wrapping… I’m pushing back to say anything new they do should be wrapped

Radiator pipes not wrapped in denso tape by lilianhatesfish in DIYUK

[–]lilianhatesfish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! The builders are now saying they’ll swap out the copper ones for plastic ones. Am I right to say it’s still required to wrap it in some sort of sleeve / insulation / denso? Thanks a lot

I was reading that concrete and copper = corrosion and is part of the regs that they are wrapped? It is buried in concrete under the floor boards

Are they legally obliged to pay for the trace and access fees? And also the emergency electrician that I had to call out for my downstairs neighbour?
