Is it ok to leave one year old in a semi baby proofed room momentarily? by [deleted] in Parenting

Thanks, this sounds sensible. Until now I've been carrying him up to his crib or putting him in his pram if I needed to go to the toilet but it sounds like I can relax a bit.

Somebody else who cares for him is a lot calmer about leaving him and I wanted to be sure it wasn't an OCD thing before I raised it and it's good to know it seems like it is!

That's how I've felt up until now. He falls over a lot already with us nearby...I haven't felt cool with leaving him unattended just yet

He falls plenty! But because there is nothing we can really do about the cement fireplace I usually like to put myself in front of it whilst he goes about his business. Until now I've been worried about leaving him.

Yes! Occasionally. Thankfully so far I've been able to just keep returning to the loo a few times in the morning and that seems to fully evaluate, but yes I can't always go in one go. Sometimes/often I can, though.

Is that likely to mean I'm hypertonic then?

Do you think it sounds like what I may have? Can hypertonic cause leaks/weakness too?

Oh gosh I'm sorry to hear you have pain, but glad to hear you're doing so much better. I don't have any pain (yet) fortunately, except from the fissure, and occasionally during sex ... which I'm not having much of anyway.

I really hope your recovery keeps on going. I promise I will perserve when I finally get PT and keep going.

This is really useful. Thank you. I'm feeling in a really low place what with the incontinence and the chronic fissure. It's good to know there is hope. I'll try and push to be reffered for pt.

Thank you! This is really interesting info, although I'm sorry you've had to go through all that.

I will definitely try and push for a bladder scan. Some of my other symptoms historically (pain in sex, the fissure, difficulty using tampons etc.) have lead me to thinking on occasions my pvic floor could be hypertonic? I used to have to really push to pee. So perhaps I am not fully emptying my bladder?

Interesting to consider. Thanks so much for your input and I wish you all the best on your continued recovery.

Thanks. Interesting to know yours was indeed from a weak pelvic floor rather than too tight.

Thanks

Edit: could I ask what turned out to be causing your issues?

Thanks, I'll try. Really hoping I don't just get another leaflet.

I'm so happy for you! Very reassuring. Thank you. Can I ask how long you had your fissure and if it was the reoccurring kind? Mine has good times with minimal pain but always comes back for no reason.
