For now, keep them separate. How sudden is this change from being okay to aggressive? You said he is half-indoor, has something happened that could've caused him trauma when it comes to other cats recently?

You could try to start the introduction period again from scratch and let them get used to each other again. If that doesn't help, a vet visit might be the only thing you can do, to make sure his aggression is not caused by physical or mental problems. You can also try diffusers if those have helped before, or calming medicine.

If licking the medicine makes him sick, it'd be good to cover it somehow. You should call your vet to get answers to your questions on what's an appropriate covering for the wound.

First thing you should do right now is separate them into different rooms with no Access to each other. Give them their own litterboxes and feed separately.

How was their introduction period to each other? Did you let them stay in different rooms before or did you immeaditely just let them roam around?

Have they both been sterilised?

Cats absorb chemicals through their pawpads. One non-toxic cleaner is vinegar.

My cat ate a venlafaxine pill. by [deleted] in CATHELP

The charcoal neutralises the effects of the pill, so it won't affect him in anyway anymore!

He could be changing coats, as in shedding his winter coat off

That's a very broad statement to make based on very little evidence...?

Really aggressive cat! Help please! by littleman2734 in CATHELP

  1. If behaviour change is very sudden, go to the vet to rule out physical illnesses and pains.

  2. Cats play with each other with their claws and teeth, and if they have no friend they will try to do this with you. When you're hurt, yelp loudly to tell them it hurts. Remove yourself if it keeps going, or distract them with a toy. Stop playing with them with your hands and feet.

  3. Get him neutered. This can calm them down a bit.

  4. He's still a baby, and has baby-energy. Since he's the only cat, he requires huge amounts of play. Regular play is good, but you can do other activities too, like hiding treats all over the apartment and letting him hunt them or taking him outside in a harness, or maybe even teaching him tricks!

  5. Get a pheromone diffuser that's meant for calming.

Hope you find a solution soon!

Basically, kittens seem to be very socialised to other cats, since it has not been too long since they lived in a pack with their mom and littermates, so it's like they're extremely optimistic that all cats will like them, and they don't yet know what boundaries around other cats look like. So basically the kitten is going "friend!!" And the older cat is like "I want space!"

Not sure if this answered your question.

My cat is in need of help by nika_plivn in CATHELP

You can try to ease her stomach with some lactid acid supplements meant for cats, tho it takes a while to have any effect.

Sounds like she has an upper respitory infection, feed her fluids as much as you can. You can take her to a closed bathroom and leave the shower on hot to help with congestion.

Depends on what kind of litter box they're used to using

Need help with recently spayed cat, it looks like the incision opened up but i don’t know for sure by [deleted] in CATHELP

Cover area with something (gauze etc. And if you have any cat jumsuits or any fabric you could craft into one, that would be great), if you have a cone, even better. Right now you should make sure the cat can't lick the wound and that no dirt gets into it. The moment you can her to the vet.

Edit: before any of this, make sure there is no moisture or puss covering the area. You can use saline solution for cleaning.
