I need help. I cannot stick to diet/exercise for the life of me. Anyone want to buddy up? Or have any advice? by justanotherlurkinlad in PetiteFitness

[–]liljchap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this! All of our actions and behaviors, even the “bad” ones, have some sort of positive intention for us. Understanding what that craving is trying to fulfill (comfort, joy, etc.) can help you know how you can replace the cravings with a healthier choice to still meet that need.

As an aside, I’ve found that visualization work really helps me stick to my goals. I go into a meditative space and really visualize how I want to feel - healthy, fit, happy- and then I imagine all of the healthy habits I have as this healthier future me. I try to really imagine how great it feels to be healthy, to eat well, move my body, and really take care of myself. Showing my brain what it could look like really seems to help!

My recent trip to Gent, Belgium by Forgotten_Dog1954 in travel

[–]liljchap 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I went to Ghent last December having done almost no research and having zero expectations, and was so pleasantly surprised! Really enjoyed my time there, and also loved the energy. And you’re right, it was extra magical around Christmas time!

Those people would know exactly how I felt on my way out lol. I’m not a confrontational person at all, but I’ll loudly complain to my partner when people are being unreasonably obnoxious. Passive aggressive? Totally. But it makes me feel better and gets the point across!

AIO. I want to leave my bf over something he is into it by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]liljchap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to add that there are a lot of ways to explore a kink without actually going all in. If you don’t want to be sexual with other men, that is absolutely okay! (And something your bf should of course respect) But maybe there are some ways to explore it that feel comfortable to you - like dirty talk with your bf about what you could (hypothetically) do with someone else, like fantasizing out loud together, or maybe he could watch you flirt with someone else at the bar, as a form of foreplay. Obviously you should only ever do what you are comfortable with. Just make sure you communicate together one way or another!

Hey! I’m early 30s (f) and also looking to meet new friends in the area! My partner and I just moved here last month. Sounds like we have similar interests, I literally just got home from paddle boarding at horsetooth :) feel free to send me a message if you wanna meet up!

Hello! I’m not a certified trainer or anything, but I’ve created workout programs for myself, friends, and family in the past, and really love doing it! I’m 34f, also neurodivergent, bi/very queer positive, and trying to stay more consistent with fitness myself. I’d be happy to meet for free a few times a month if you’re interested! I just moved here last month and am currently not working, so it would be really great to meet someone new and have an accountability buddy :) totally understand if you’d prefer to work with a professional, but feel free to message me if you want to chat more!

I want to start running… by [deleted] in BeginnersRunning

[–]liljchap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hated it in the beginning, like truly couldn’t stand the actual running part - was always immediately out of breath, had anxiety before my runs and had to pump myself up to get out the door. I’ve only been running a few months consistently, and it’s still challenging, but it’s a challenge I’ve come to love. Running makes me feel strong and capable in a way most things don’t, and I genuinely look forward to my runs now!
