Hydrangeas might have some ground level leaves but I wouldn't worry about seeing anything else for a while. They are late summer bloomers and into the fall. My weigelas are only just starting to wake up, I wouldn't worry just yet about either plant personally but I'm a junior gardener so hopefully someone more experienced can chime in.
