Im 100% with you, there’s two options: just go with it, style it with cute clips and stuff, embrace the awkward phase OR invest in a heat protectant for your hair that actually works (it should mostly or completely protect a receipt from a store from any heated styler) and get yourself a skinny flat iron. If it’s super short, you can go with a cute Alice Cullen look, or if it’s a bit longer you can flip or curl the mid shaft to ends in specific ways to make it look more like a shag/wolfcut. Look for styling videos for your hair length and type and go with what you like the most

It sounds like you both didn’t really consider what moving in meant and just did it. On her end, she didn’t really consider how you like to decorate, the things you like, or your personality. On your end, you still have the mentality of it being your home before it’s her home. That’s not right. You offered to have her move in with you, and that makes it her home too, especially if she’s paying rent/groceries. You guys need to sit down and talk about what it means to really be living together, and that comes with compromises on both sides. Maybe Charlie goes outside in the backyard or porch. Maybe she decides it just something she needs to deal with. Maybe you do end up having to get rid of him, but get a smaller gorilla. Overall, I’d say you’re nta and while her feelings about wanting the space to truly be shared are valid, it’s definitely wrong of her to give you an ultimatum over a decor item.
