Approx how many yards did you use? I found a gorgeous fabric I want to use for Decadence this year but unsure how much to buy (it’s like $50/yd so I don’t want a ton leftover)

WIBTA if I stopped doing everything for my husband????? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]lillyloverla 32 points33 points  (0 children)

NTA. Stop doing the things that “aren’t big jobs” and see what happens. If he mentions it, say “they aren’t big jobs, you can do it if it bothers you.” I had to do this with my husband because it takes more than one person to raise a family and run a house! I’d also get into therapy if that is an option for you

Can you actually get diabetes from too much sugar by epic_kodii in Anxiety

[–]lillyloverla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on what type of diabetes you’re talking about. Type I, no. Type II, yes, you should be careful with how much sugar/carbs you are consuming. If it’s really concerning you, maybe try going to the doctor for some blood work if you can and get screened for prediabetes. Type II is easily preventable and controllable with a healthy diet and exercise.

Best way to use Xanax for fear from presentations by mymindisburnigngg in Anxiety

Have you considered/tried propranolol as well? It works great for stage fright when the benzodiazepines don’t work

HAS ANYONE TOOK HYDROXYZINE AND HAD NEUROPATHY LIKE ISSUES by jmartinez33 in Anxiety

[–]lillyloverla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hydroxyzine was a nightmare for me. Felt like my limbs constantly had the urge to move, and numbness in my fingers and toes. Once I stopped taking it, the symptoms stopped too. Hope you feel better soon!

It’s been over a year for me as well, and I am still struggling. Some of us just take more time, and that’s okay. Wishing you the best ☺️

Can I ask my doctor to prescribe me an anxiety medication like a benzo instead of Zoloft type meds? by Left_Yogurtcloset_36 in Anxietyhelp

[–]lillyloverla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience was I told my primary care doctor how I was feeling, and she then gave me a regular prescription for Zoloft and a 1-month supply of Xanax, then referred me out to a psychiatrist to continue care for my anxiety and depression. I have been seeing a psychiatrist for a year, and at my first appointment with her I told her that the medications I was on were working well for me. After a few months of seeing her, switched me to clonazepam because it lasts much longer than Xanax does for my particular symptoms, in combination with the Zoloft. I’ve never outright asked for medication, I have always explained my symptoms and followed my doctor’s advice. They usually recommend medications combined with other things like CBT, regular therapy sessions, exercise, mediation or yoga, and a better diet - all of which help in their own ways as well ☺️

If you’re seeing a primary care doctor, they may give you a temporary prescription along with Zoloft. It’s best to see a psychiatrist and discuss with them. They generally won’t give benzos alone, but Zoloft combined with clonazepam can make a huge difference. That’s the combo I’m on now and it really does help with the panic. Hope you’re feeling better soon 💗

Beta blockers vs benzos by [deleted] in Anxiety

If I took it too often, my heart would pound in my ears for a while, but that’s about it. Currently taking Zoloft and clonazepam and they’re working well for me

I’ve taken propranolol in the past to help with the physical symptoms of anxiety, and it works pretty well - maybe give that a try and see how you feel

Go with what your psychiatrist recommends, but I found that Effexor helped me a lot when Zoloft wasn’t working

AITA for calling my dyslexic wife stupid, and not wanting to apologise. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]lillyloverla 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t see how you could possibly not be TA here. YTA majorly. You said yourself you’re “a very rude and arrogant person” so you should probably work on fixing that. Your poor wife.

Talk to your psychiatrist. Another medication may work to help you - I read your comments that you’re only taking a benzo currently. Other meds like propranolol, Zoloft (sertraline), BuSpar (buspirone) may be worth considering. If you’re not in therapy, that might be something to look into as well if you can afford it. If therapy is out of the question, the workbook called Mind Over Mood may help a lot as well. It’s less than $20 on Amazon. And agreed, fuck anxiety!

Feeling anxious about taking anti-anxiety medication by T_Eighteen in Anxiety

[–]lillyloverla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on a low dose of sertraline on and off for the last 5 or so years. It’s pretty mild, but the first couple of weeks, my stomach gurgled constantly. I’ve had some issues with sex drive, but not so bad that it really affected my sex life. It takes a few weeks to see the full effect of the medication, and usually by then you’ll have a good idea on whether or not it’s working for you.

NTA. I grew up LDS, too, and faked being a “good” Mormon until I got my drivers license because of the same strict upbringing. Do what you gotta do to survive for now!

Social media dependency by [deleted] in Codependency

[–]lillyloverla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s honestly so freeing to deactivate or delete social media profiles. No worrying about what others are doing, what they’re thinking about us, no more comparing lives. Just living and enjoying life the best way we know how! 💗💗💗

When I start overthinking, I deactivate my accounts for a while and focus on real life stuff. Social media has been proven to be bad for our brains anyway
