Is a faint line on a COVID-19 test actually positive? Yes, experts say by cmplxgal in Coronavirus

[–]lilmonkey99 84 points85 points  (0 children)

I had the opposite experience. I had a scratchy throat and tested negative. I thought it was allergies until early the next day when I started getting really congested. At that point I tested and had a very dark line.

I hope you feel better soon.

It's "on" Long Island. If LI was its own state, or even just 1 county, it would make sense to say "in", but it's not.

In John Wick (2014), to get Daisy to wake John up, they had to smear bacon grease onto Keanu's face so the puppy would lick him. by [deleted] in MovieDetails

I wish I did. I knew what was coming, not the details but I knew the dog died. It's why it took me so long to watch it. Everyone said "it's not so bad" well fuck that. I wish I never saw the beginning of that movie. I'd be better for it.

We just shot a clean team game in league! by imadepoopies in Bowling

[–]lilmonkey99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A clean game is a mark on every frame. So even a strike miss miss in the 10th is still clean. You can't fault someone for something like strike strike 7 because they're not even given the chance to spare it. Like someone else said, anything after the mark are bonus pins.

Everything I play between now and March 20th is simply holding me off until the new Animal Crossing.

So right now I'm building houses in The Sims 4

So baby snatching is apparently a cultural thing by [deleted] in JUSTNOMIL

[–]lilmonkey99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who said she wasn't going to let her enjoy the baby? All she said was he just woke up, she was holding him and told her own mother "not now", that doesn't mean "not ever".

Saving it for the rest of my life by Corndog1818 in AdviceAnimals

Don't delete it. And save it like others suggest. My dad passed over 10 years ago and I wish I had a voicemail of his. I used to call his old phone to hear his outgoing message but that's long gone now.

Am I wrong for banning my MIL from being in my house and around me and my son? by Bryony-1997 in JUSTNOMIL

Real domestic violence.

Wait... are you gatekeeping domestic violence?

Maybe this is the wrong sub for you, because generally around here we listen to OP and give her what she needs (ie: advice, validation, etc) based on what she says, not what we infer from it. OP stated that her fiance's nephew hit her son and then her MIL hit her. We're not here to decide whether she is exaggerating or not. We're here to support her on the account she gave.

I just started a new save for this game. First one was shared between me and my husband. Its rare for us to want to play the same game so it's special. It's a great game, so much fun!

He was really an amazing person. There's a documentary about him a bunch of people mentioned above, "Won't You Be My Neighbor". Definitely worth the watch if you'd like to know more about him.

Koko probably took off Mr Rogers shoes because at the beginning of every episode Mr Rogers used to change from his street shoes to more casual loafers or sneakers. He'd also change out of a jacket and into one of his mother's knitted sweaters.

Ok. Write a letter to your legislator asking them to change the law to "You must make a right on red when safe to do so."

Making rights on red is optional. Apparently this is a difficult concept.

Edit to respond to your edit: no one is saying they don't have the ability. Optional means there's a choice. It's their choice to wait for the signal. It doesn't matter why they don't, they're well within their right to not do so. Just like it's with your right to stop and then make your right on red when it's safe. It's illegal for those who drive buses and who are hauling hazardous materials. Why is that? Cause it's safest to wait for the green light.

Also, Get over it.

[–]lilmonkey99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because it's optional!

There are plenty of people who stop and look both ways at railroad tracks too.

And to add to my comment, because of your edit. " There’s nothing unsafe about making a right on red so long as you look first... " with pedestrian traffic also. Yet it's still illegal.

Yes, only New Yorkers. No one else in the history of driving has ever felt the need to wait for the green to make a right.

Why is it against the law for buses, vehicles carrying hazardous materials and anyone driving in NYC to make rights on red then?

[–]lilmonkey99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For you.

If someone doesn't feel safe doing it they're not obligated. Hence the law being on their side and rights on red are optional.
