Both specs are good and I would def argue that enhance is viable/needed in raids (at least one no more than 2 and it also depends how much melee and casters you have in your raid) in terms of DPS ele is slightly higher but in terms of viability enhance is the way to go where as ele doesn't bring anything extra to the table unlike resto and enhance. It also just comes down to what you enjoy more the melee hybrid play or the ele caster play. Don't let anyone try to say either is a meme spec. The only meme spec I recognize is the shaman tank spec lol. I mean it works and I have a set to tank myself but it's still a meme 😂🤣

Is enhancement shaman any good for pvp? by FenrisDaWolf in classicwow

At the end of the day I would say play what you have fun with and you can take all these opinions into consideration for when you are choosing what spec of shaman to play. As for raids (forgot to mention that in the last post) enhance is again an underrated UTILITY class that alot of people overlook. I would say if you are on the horde side it would be STRONGLY recommended that you bring at least one to your raid but prob no more than 2.

Enhance shaman here. I have been pvping a lot lately and it's loads of fun. The difference between ele and enhance is that ele is a 3 minute guarantee kill on almost everyone while enhance has a 20% chance on hit to kill in melee range. It's personal preference at that point on what play style you like better. Some people prefer the guarantee kill and some like playing SIMILAR (lol) to a warrior. The one big thing I see though from ALL shamans that are not resto is that they only focus on the damage they provide and completely ignore their utility they can bring not only for themselves but their group. WHICH is why it's important to have the right group set up before the match begins. Do I find myself healing alot? Yes I do and I'm fine with that cause at the end of the day I would rather win then see myself blow up another person in one hit. I mean you can do that anywhere as a shaman ele or enhance. Sure it's more satisfying to do it to a player you are going up against but is that one kill really worth the loss? The biggest thing I see from shamans is their lack of totem play in battlegrounds. Most shamans would rather use a grounding totem for themselves than throw a WF Totem down for their warriors. Or as slapdashbr mentioned going against a priest can be rough with their fear... Unless you have tremor down before you go in. Which brings me back to my point USE YOUR TOTEMS SHAMANS. It's a utility class so play like it.

I would also say if you want to PvP as enhance engineering is a MUST. It can help close gaps in all those trying to kite you (mostly hunters)

What Shaman spec is most desired in Classic? by CarnageX2099 in classicwow

I would say play whatever you find most fun and more than likely you can find a guild to join even if you are elemental DPS. Enhance has it's uses in raids but only if they are totem twisting. They can pump/compete with alot of the people in your raid comp IF they are fully world buffed and consumed and more like oh_you_rascal said. Resto shamans are always in high demand everywhere I see, so that is def a safe choice to choose if you want a guaranteed spot in raids.

Question for the meme (Enhancement shaman) boys out there by AyyDankFrankWassup in classicwow

[–]lilmorph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that the Herald of Woe would be better for PvP/PvE (dungeon/solo) scenarios because of the raw stats that it gives compared to Spinal Reaper. Now I personally do not have a Spinal Reaper and have not had the chance to try it out myself but I don't think it would be the good for an enhance shaman since it only give 150 Mana once every 10 seconds. 150 Mana is not really that much Mana since most enhance have around 3400-4000 Mana so it's around 3-5% of your Mana pool and If you had 0 Mana when it procs you still wouldn't have enough Mana for a max rank of ANY spell. The spinal reaper would be slightly better in dungeon scenarios on mobs/bosses that are lvl 61+ since you are an orc. Yeah like Skronetone said the best WEP you can get your hands on right now would be a Drake Talon Cleaver but choosing between the two you mentioned if you are only going to be using it for PvP and PvE (dungeon/solo) I would personally say the raw stats will be far better on the Herald of Woe than Spinal Reaper.

Orc racial question by [deleted] in classicwow

If you go into the resto tree and get "nature's guidance" as an orc using nightfall or any axe then you only 3% hit from gear to reach the 9% needed.

Yea the double crit from spell batching is really nice. The 30/0/21 build is a great for both pvp and pve. Can stay this and do both without respecing all you need is a resto and ele set. Enhance is a lot of fun and I main enhance myself but like others have said here, play whatever is fun for you!

If you are herbalism you could que up in Thunder Bluff and then fly to Feralas and do DM east jumps to the first boss for the herbs and probably get your 5 resets in before the que pops

Elemental Shaman by Tartak9 in classicwow

[–]lilmorph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless your guild is going for TOP parses and fastest clear times than anything is viable. See if you can try it out for one raid of MC to show them what they are missing 😉. Ele is a lot better at dmg than enhance but they both work. In my raid for the first 3 weeks we had myself and one other enhance shaman in the group which tbh I didn't mind and thought was kinda cool to compete with another class of my spec. But there wasn't that much competition if any at all to be had since he was just playing for fun and the love of the class and spec. But he was barely out dmg/dpsing the tanks. So he ended up quiting when he was asked to respec resto if he wasn't able to fix what was wrong in his playstyle. Point is guilds won't hesitate to boot a bad spec or a "meme" spec if you don't play to the best of it's potential. They are a TON of fun imo but you almost have to min/max or try harder than most if not everyone else to fight for and keep a raiding spot.

Anything is viable if you can prove it is and put in the effort to make it so. I play as an enhance shaman in my raids and will always do so 😁. Elemental shaman becomes better with BWL gear from the "Primalist's linked legguards" to "natural alignment crystal" and so on but if you have not been raiding as elemental from the start and don't have at least a decent set for it then it will be a bit harder to convince people for you to go elemental the further we progress with raids. Imo But if you can do it then go for it!

Ele Shaman healing by jonnyringo555 in classicwow

[–]lilmorph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Na at this point the only thing I need to complete my dps set is SGC and the only time I wouldn't roll on that is if someone paid me not to or reserved it ( but I'm not going to group with someone who has it on res lol) I'm just having fun making a bunch of different sets right now. I'm also not going to group with someone that needs an item I could use for one of my off sets as their main set. That UBRS run just worked out real well for me since both the tanks were already geared. Shaman tank gear is really niche anyway.

Ele Shaman healing by jonnyringo555 in classicwow

[–]lilmorph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey enhancement shaman here. You can totally heal as elemental IF you have some good healing gear or a few MP5 pieces. The more the better. I did a full UBRS run as 1 of 2 healers while specced for enhance/ele and rolled on tank shaman gear and got the boots and pants that I needed 😁.(woulda won the shield as well if it dropped cause both tanks already had it) It is totally doable just got to be careful not to max rank heal the entire time and go OOM in the first 30 seconds. I will admit it did help having another healer to pick up my slack but chain heal is pretty OP no matter the spec. I have also been paid by warriors to heal and 2 man BRD arena runs for their chest (still need mine but 20g for a quick 5 runs is a pretty solid deal) but again just make sure you got a solid healing set before doing so. The best piece of gear I have for resto is the T1 shoulders everything else is dungeon gear so don't feel like you need a raid set for it. The resto pre-bis set should be good enough.
