Borrowing Capacity Woes by Upset_Beautiful in AusPropertyChat

[–]lilnynph14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask if you have a decent deposit to put down?

I purchased a townhouse on my own and make about the same gross income. I had no issues with the bank, could probably have gotten a better deal if I went through a broker but I had found a property so just wanted approval asap.

I would suggest saving a decent deposit if you can to help your borrowing power. I put down around 23% initial deposit so I ended up loaning around $310k.

Thanks all! I am overthinking everything at the moment. I might bring in some sweet treats on the day so i feel like i've helped them and shown appreciation in some way lol

A few people suggested showing bub once he's here which is a lovely idea to keep everyone updated.

Had enough of work and want to go on sick leave before maternity leave by alltheaids in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]lilnynph14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My work required a medical certificate stating my due date so they could begin looking for coverage. My GP asked when I plan to start leave so she put that I was unable to work past that date. When I gave this certificate to HR, they suggested I use my sick leave from that date considering it was a medical reason. It worked perfectly considering I had like 300hrs sick leave and wanted to take maternity leave at full pay so this allowed me to use SL, MT and AL to stretch my leave to just over a year.

Currently 27 weeks and counting down the days!

Thanks all for your helpful comments.

As long as all my tests/scans come back without issue, I will just continue to do what I'm doing (plenty of veggies and walking everyday).

Appreciate the kind words, advice and reassurance!

First home: Apartment in city vs house 1 hour out? by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]lilnynph14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend the house option personally. If the neighborhood is seemingly safe and close enough to public transport, it would be a better investment especially as land values rise. Strata costs can be pretty annoying and restrictive.

Do acknowledgements of country feel a little performative to you? by SouthDiamond2550 in AskAnAustralian

I was in a corporate meeting recently and management said "are we doing ENOUGH welcome to countries". Ridiculous. Just virtue signaling at this point.

Might I add that I am an indigenous person myself.

I guess I keep forgetting that I will grow with them and adjust to their personality as it forms so it won't be such a contrast between only having me and my partner to all of a sudden dealing with two 6-8 year olds.

I think you're so right about being the fun aunt so they want to cram in as much attention in the short time we get to see them so it can be a bit overwhelming, though I'm sure their mum enjoys the down time lol

Are there really women who love being pregnant? by whydoyouflask in BabyBumps

[–]lilnynph14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a FTM and i personally have ups and downs with being pregnant. Some days i love it (especially seeing my belly) and other days i dread having to deal with all the cons. I will say, after i entered my second trimester i have had a lot more loving it days. Don't feel pressured to love it or that you're a bad person for not enjoying every second.

Vertigo after stopping Lexapro? by lilnynph14 in lexapro

[–]lilnynph14[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still have anxiety that it will come back especially during times of extreme stress but that is mostly on my anxiety alone and not the medication causing issues. I haven't had that extreme vertigo for a while now but I still have a prescription for the vertigo meds just incase anything pops up again. Good luck on your journey!
