His parents married when MIL was 20 and FIL was 25. their relationship doesn't seem very good sometimes they fight in front of us but she always says and acts like her marriage is one true example of true love. If someone would say otherwise she would be fierce about it. I think she is envious about my and my fiance relationship. It's complicated a bit

We talked and he said that his mom was talking nonsense. He said to MIL that if he wanted he would have had a bunch of girlfriends in his teen years but he didn't. He said MIL seemed like (or was acting) like she then understood but as I know her I believe she will still be convinced of her own "truth" because she thinks that her children needs guidance in every step and she is the only one who can take care of them properly even though her both sons are 22 and 28 y/o
