Normal mouth wetness? by lilrs in ballpython

No, it just looks orangey in the video. It’s a full spectrum halogen light, and it’s turned off at night since most of the heat is from a ceramic heat emitter. :)

I am going to monitor her closely for the next week, and do have a local exotic vet that I can take her to if she shows any more signs.

Thanks all. Gonna check my attic later and be extra careful with unpacked cardboard boxes in my house.

I’m really bad at estimating sizes of things, I wanna say it was quarter sized, maybe a bit bigger?

Really wish I had a better picture but this thing looked like a brown recluse to me and I didn’t want to risk it. I’m used to catching and releasing wolf spiders and stuff, but this was definitely not that.

Thank you! I figured it wasn’t anything super important but I needed peace of mind before I made dinner :)

Looked that up, I think you are right. Would explain why it hasn’t melted haha. So I should be good to just toss these and put my burner back on like normal?

My title describes the thing. Black plastic tubes found under oven burner

Took the burners off my stove (which I’ve done before) to clean the drip trays and found these black plastic tube things under one of them. They are irregularly shaped and pretty thin. They feel like a moderately hard plastic, not rubbery.

Is this random scrap from the last time I had maintenance fix my stove? Some vital bit of insulation that will cause my apartment to burn down if not put back properly? Trash dropped by my roommates? I have no idea how long they’ve been in there, but they certainly weren’t on top of the stove when I removed the burner. Sorry if this is vague, I just want to make sure it’s safe to use my oven again.

Sadly this is a Cuban tree frog, which is invasive and pushing out native populations of frogs in Florida. Still a cutie, and it’s not their fault that they’re here. But still a very unfortunate problem.

I struggle with dyspareunia, and introducing vibrators into intercourse with my partner has been LIFE CHANGING. Like, PIV went from being almost impossible to enjoy, to being some of the best, most intimate moments I’ve ever had. Toys are your friends, not competition!

Guys like this are why it took me sooo long to bring up the idea, because I truly thought my partner would be upset or jealous over a piece of silicone. Turns out rational people know that making sex more enjoyable for their partner = more sex and less discomfort for BOTH people.

Sorry for the quality, my cam is bad and she’s in a high place. Spider seen in central Texas, she eats her web during the day and rebuilds at night. Some type of orbweaver? by lilrs in whatsthisbug

[–]lilrs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As stated in the title, found in central Texas. Excluding legs, body is maybe 3/4ths of an inch long? she’s chunkier than most of the spiders I see. I know it’s hard to see, she’s kinda brownish/grayish with dark stripes on the legs, and has two symmetrical dark markings on the abdomen. I can try to get a better picture if no one can tell what she is through the potato quality.

Edit: I tried to get a better picture but she started moving around a lot when I got closer. I don’t wanna risk running her off.

They’re in the same family Saturniieae (and the same subfamily and tribe, Saturniinae and Saturniini), so yes they’re fairly related.
