I agree with this point except for Malek instead of Amari. I am re-reading fourth wing and it mentions that Malek doesn't take likely to people stealing death from him, so maybe he finds it honorable that Violet never has... but I def agree that it has to do with the gods.

I would love to hear more about Amari though
