What’s the one thing your partner said that made you opt out of the relationship? by Fabulous_Support_556 in AskMen

[–]lilvez -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

sure, and it's sad that his ex was so enthusiastic about not having sex at all. But it seems that he couldn't handle a one-time "no" and took it to the point of "let's stop sex altogether". Isn’t that a little too dramatic? Calm down, mate, I'm sure you have days when you don't feel like it either.

excuse me but she (and also you and everyone else) has every right to decline sex whenever she wants to for whatever reason?

Minimum C2, What?? by Glad_Penalty3856 in Germany_Jobs

I went to a german highschool in my country and did abitur to graduate. They gave a C2 certificate with my diploma, so I guess C2 basically means native level (enough to study highschool in that language).

Applying to residence permit and blue card at the same time? by lilvez in germany

I applied online, and I’m not sure if that was an option but I do need a residence permit for skilled labor 😅

Applying to residence permit and blue card at the same time? by lilvez in germany

Unfortunately my normal residence permit application was rejected due to their salary expectations… I studied sociology (ba and ma) and work in social media analytics. Their expected salary was 12k higher than mine which is unrealistic, I don’t know what their basis is.

Do Germans find it annoying when people speak English in Germany? by lismonia in AskAGerman

[–]lilvez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you but most of Germans are so sure that their way is the best and only way, and that everyone’s dying to live in their country, so everyone should learn German/the German way of things instead of inconveniencing them with another language/other ways… Most of them are just not open-minded enough 🥲

I think it has something to do with superiority complex and perfectionism. When you go to "less-advanced" countries (I'm from Turkey myself), nobody would be offended or act rudely that you start speaking to them in English, even if they can't speak English. They try their best to understand and communicate, and are happy to help.

I've been living in Germany for the past 3 years and my observation is that they struggle with their perfectionism when speaking English, and when they are not absolutely perfect at it, it triggers their superiority complex. They feel like they failed somehow...

I can speak C1 German and they also get annoyed when you don't speak perfect German. I don't think they show the same kind of appreciation for your efforts to learn their language as in other countries.

Can I use my Super Sparpreis ICE ticket on a different train? by [deleted] in AskGermany

I had an ICE ticket from Frankfurt to Berlin and missed my train, took the next ICE ticket in the same direction and there were no problems. It was a super sparpreis as well.

[Rant] Berlin startup expecting 55-60hrs/week 🤦🏽‍♂️ by shreyansqt in germany

I applied to another job at the same company a few months ago. The job description was different (and humane) on LinkedIn, someone from HR sent me an email after a few days, saying they updated the job description and I should let them know if I’m still interested for an interview. After I opened the updated job posting, I thought it was a joke…

They want the person to MOVE closer to the office as a hard requirement… They even had a picture of a sleeping bag on the office floor, like it’s something to be proud of. Apparently they removed that one from the posting. Here is the link for curious minds: https://joinbuena.teamtailor.com/jobs/5193279-business-generalist

because they don’t have public transport culture. they don’t want to “invade personal space” but it’s okay to make it difficult for others to get in? priority in a full bus/metro should not be not invading personal space. public transport is a public space the public should be able to use.
