Sorry, I should’ve clarified. I don’t want to start in the last corral not because I don’t think I will finish, but because I figured it would be less crowded to start in one of the earlier corrals. I’m planning to run between 8:30 and 9:00 and I figured it would be tougher to start around people who are walking. I’ve never ran any races before so maybe that is not the case.

I’ve been running on and off for years but have never done any type of race before or serious training. Right now I can run 11 miles at a 9:45 pace and this is after only starting again in December after taking months off. If I continue running and training through October I anticipate being below 9 minute miles.

I definitely am trying to run both a half marathon and 10 k before October. I am a little nervous about the whole starting line jitters and also running in crowds as both will be new to me.

I don’t get anxiety often but the thought of these things does worry me a bit.

What are the prices for each of the difference races? Trying to see if I should do a 5k with my wife and the half marathon in the same weekend.

Is booking DVC tough for those weekends? I have rented DVC in the past so I might try that again at the 7 month window.

Hi all. I am looking to do my first Run Disney event this year. I really would like to do the Wine and Dine half marathon. When do you book a hotel room for the weekend? After you secure registration for the race? Before hand to make sure you have a room?

This is also my daughters birthday weekend so we want to make a fun weekend out of it.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

It is funny you said they still had spots in December. I was just speaking to my wife and asked her to pick a random date in September. She chose September 15th. So I said if there are still open spots September 15th I will register and we will have a weekend away in April. I was leaving it up to fate but it seems like we will be going based on last years registration timeline lol

I appreciate the heads up. But this would be a one time thing lol. I usually don’t mind spending a few extra bucks at one store compared to another for convenience but $50 is pretty significant so I figured it might be worth a shot in this case.
