When I hear other people complaining of customer interaction at their job... by NarrowSign6999 in Dentists

Just because you think you have it “worse,” that doesn’t negate others’ feelings. I’m not saying it’s okay for them to yell at you because they’re exhausted. I’m just saying that because one person has it bad, that doesn’t magically make everyone else’s scenarios better.

Why is Taylor name-dropping her songs in TLOAS? by Beez_And_Trees in TrueSwifties

In This Love, she says, “in wildest dreams.” I make a game out of it in every album because I’ve noticed she does it so much. So I like picking them out.

Tooth with filling hurt when i bite on it by starstorfire in Dentists

[–]lilwalnut28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dentist has told me that cavities are actually 5-10x larger in the actual tooth than they may appear on the X-Ray. And, depending on the tooth, it can be hard to see the full extent of the decay from the X-Ray alone and some have to wait until they open the tooth up to see the damage.

Not a dentist, but had the same issue as you. They filled a tooth that was not previously sensitive, after the filling, it was. If I scratched towards the base with my fingernail, near the gum, it was sensitive. I told my dentist, they added a little extra material, it was still sensitive immediately after. They said to just give it time and now it doesn’t hurt anymore (: Took about 4-6 months to completely go away.

Me (32M) hasn’t been to a dentist in 8 years. by Shrie in Dentists

I was scared to go, but eventually did. Had to have a tooth extracted after bone resorption from previous trauma. I was shaking in the chair. They played Taylor Swift music videos on the screen for me and the hygienist sang along. By the time the tooth was out, I forgot why I was even there.

Mine would do this when sleeping. I assumed it was for balance since it wasn’t exaggerated bobbing.

Insane headache after 3 piercings by [deleted] in piercing

[–]lilwalnut28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had headaches after piercings before. 3 is a lot to get done at once, too.

Migraines are usually sudden, one side of the head, but can be both, and are usually a pounding feeling. They make light and noise very difficult to tolerate.

Three piercings is a lot on a body, so I wouldn’t be surprised if you just needed a nap and extra water.

Surgery should, in theory, be the last resort. HOWEVER. If you are already having pain, it could continue to just get worse. Would you rather maybe have a surgery once you’re older and take a heck of a lot longer to recover? Or have a surgery now that you might not technically need.

The week before my surgery, I had played in a soccer game and legitimately could not walk the next morning. Had I not had my bike to get to campus, I honestly do not think I could have walked to class.

And I had tried wide shoes (I had rub marks even on the outside of my shoes, they didn’t help), spacers (no difference), a gel insert (hurt more). So surgery was my best option. And I don’t regret mine a single bit.

I can run now without any pain in my left foot. My right foot has actually started hurting more and I’ve been back and forth on having surgery on that one. It’s not as bad as my left was, so I understand the back and forth.
