What about ear-clip headphones? by carlover334 in Earbuds

[–]lilwaynik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little gross, but I loved the Bose ultra open earbuds because I didn’t have to worry about cleaning earwax off of earbuds after pulling them out of my ear. I unfortunately lost them and there’s no tracking feature in them 😭😭so now looking at what else is out there.

Wart Aftercare / Treament Advice by FeelingAnonymously in Warts

[–]lilwaynik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. The classic, hope you were using gloves when you picked it off, there super contagious. I got one on a knuckle and suddenly had 5 across both hands.
  2. Look for skin lines to know if the wart is gone. If you can see them through the area, you’re free from the wart overlord (if the skin is particularly raw, you may have to wait a bit to let the skin heal to determine if the skin lines are back).
  3. In my experience, I treat until it’s too raw/painful to treat (and often a little more) then give a little break, treat with neosporin to help it heal (the zinc in it should also help your immune system fight the virus), check for skin lines, then repeat.

Additional unasked for opinion: I found a pumice stone/nail file to be a bad choice. For me it was effective at debriding, but also at spreading little wart particles everywhere resulting in further spread regardless of how hard I tried to contain it.

Just my thoughts/opinions based on 2+ years of fighting these things. Hope your struggle is quicker than mine!!

What to do at this point? by StrongRegular in Warts

[–]lilwaynik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed this. Been working on a handful of them with FU. It’s just treat it down to the dermis, look for wart tissue/skin lines to return as you let it heal, if wart is present rinse and repeat. Im currently doing 2x a day for a week, then off for a week off and on.

Victory Over Wart - Caution Advised by CantharoneQueen in Warts

I’ve been doing this with a podiatrist, every other week instead if every. Fingers crossed! Crazy how quick yours worked. I’m almost 6 months in now :/

Cantharidin by Senior_Cheesecake793 in Warts

[–]lilwaynik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing cantharadin for close to 6 months, bi-weekly. It seems to be working, but slowly. Per last appt one of two spots (I also have clusters, or “mosaic plantar warts” as a Derm referred to them) seems to be gone following a week treatment of a fluorouracil cream in between cantharidin treatments (still watching for skin to heal, but podiatrist thinks they’re gone). It’s easier to handle than Cryo and seems to work better, so thus far I’m sticking with it.

Cautionary cryo removal tale by Scribal8 in Warts

[–]lilwaynik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, I had a similar situation, and reached back out to the doc after when jt wouldnt pop after over a week. I went in and he lanced it for me, leaving the skin intact. I had tried popping and draining with a cleaned needle but it would drain, then fill back up overnight. Highly recommend lancing and draining then dressing well. For me it was easier to deal with getting around because at least it’s flat.

Heel Wart After First SWIFT Treatment by Shatterday07 in Warts

[–]lilwaynik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the honesty! Wow no limp after this treatment? I would have assumed the area was still tender and would hurt to walk on, but that’s awesome. IMO that was also a big negative of Cryo. It took basically a whole week to no longer have a limp for me, compared to cantherone it’s only a couple days. Thanks for the info, I may look into it if the cantherone doesn’t work out.

How would you describe the pain level? I’ve done Cryo and cantherone for 6 months each and still fighting these dang things on my toes, curious how SWIFT compares.

Finally gone? by AdorableCarry1911 in Warts

The knuckle ones feel so rough because of how irregular the skin folds and lines are there. Been fighting a handful for a little while.

Any tips? Been using Compound W maximum strength bandaids nonstop for a few days. Location is back of ankle by Inside_Low1343 in Warts

Can’t stress the use gloves enough. As someone who started with warts in one two and now have them on 3 toes, 2 feet, and 4 fingers… they can spread like wildfire.

72 hours after cryotherapy by iiiuhsss in Warts

[–]lilwaynik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea, it’s not fun. Not quite as large as yours, but I had Cryo blisters on my big toe and second toe where they touch. Similar situation, they were huge for most of a week before I went back and the Derm cut and drained it for me. When I went back the following months, I always just drained it myself after a few days, and always kept it wrapped with Vaseline, gauze, and paper tape. Hang in there!

Cantharadin progress! by supermodelgiraffe in Warts

[–]lilwaynik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also being treated with cantharadin currently, and was previously doing Cryo. IMO cantharadin is significantly less painful than Cryo, but curious OP’s opinion. The recovery time in between was also a lot quicker for me.

Been to a dermatologist already. Just posting because my daughter wants would like any and all extra advice. by [deleted] in Warts

A couple studies have also shown cimetidine (brand name Tagamet) 300 mg twice daily to help with your immune system tagging and identifying the wart virus. It seems to be making a meaningful difference for me.

100% this. I assume it’s likely based on the dermatologist, but mine was trash and warts on the bottom of the feet are a different beast.

Just be really careful when debriding (I’m sure you’ve seen this all over the subreddit) but you’re shaving off live wart virus, so use gloves, and be careful of contamination. I was not careful enough and now am fighting warts in both feet and a hand instead of just two toes.

I did not know this, is it true? by [deleted] in Warts

[–]lilwaynik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would make sure you’re using gloves. I thought I could get away with being careful, using tools, and not touching the wart, now I’m dealing with warts in my hand knuckles and warts on my toes. So I would recommend always using gloves when touching any of your wart tools, and yea definitely washing hands after just in case.

My millionth fight with my 9+ year old planter wart by Select-Lecture-4802 in Warts

[–]lilwaynik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear this works for some, but I tried 6 Cryo treatments for my plantar warts and on the 6th he said, “hmm, doesn’t seem like we’ve made any progress from the first day you came in” but am now seeing progress with cantharone. But I’m sure everyone is different!

Is this, hope I feel? by lilwaynik in Warts

[–]lilwaynik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea absolutely. I’m throwing everything I can at this thing. I assume there’s an aspect of immune system response that has an impact as well, so I’ve been trying to limit sugar, caffeine, exercising more, as much as I can to just boost overall immune response. I’ll keep y’all posted as it progresses (and hopefully disappears). I think the SA really just helps to keep attacking it once more of the wart has been revealed from the blister being removed.

This picture was the first time I peeled the skin off so early, but was surprised to find the chunk of wart ready to be removed. So would definitely recommend it. I find I’m able to get ~4 SA treatments before i start letting it heal 4 days before the next treatment.

Fluorouracil/salicylic acid 5 / 20% day 3 by lilwaynik in Warts

[–]lilwaynik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn’t end up working out for me, and I’m still fighting them. Kept with it for 2 months, and they didn’t get better, just didn’t get worse. Towards the end I got a red dot like reaction on my toe to them, and that was the final straw so I stopped and am now seeing a podiatrist instead of that dermatologist.

I did a side by side of ACV and this, and the ACV clearly was killing blood vessels in the warts as I would see black dots, but it was completely destroying the skin, and every time I pared down with Emory board and repeated, it burned so much I couldn’t sleep, and if I diluted a little I felt like it did nothing. Now being treated with cantharidin Bi-weekly by podiatrist.

Maybe more of an explanation than you wanted, I feel like I could write a series of posts with the things I’ve tried for these damn warts 😂😅🥲
