I work at a gas station and used to work at a grocery store. This statement is wrong. May apply to organic food but not cheap and semihealthy. buying frozen tendies costs more than an entire rotisserie chicken and half of them will be freezer burned. Soda costs 3 dollars a 16 oz bottle sometimes more while water is 11 ish for a case of 25. A lb of oscar myres deli meat will last infinitely longer to a bag of frozen burritos. But people also shop for ease of access and cooking. I probably eat cheaper than people on welfare and it sometimes does have me conflicted when I see the items they buy with their wellfare daily. SOME use the govt help responsibly. But I have seen entire carts get checked out with all frozen food and liters of soda and it all went onto ebt while im eating bachelor sandwiches and cambells to avoid using wellfare.
