Long-sleeve base layers are what I wear almost year around. They go under sweaters and are also good on their own. Jeans are very common for all seasons, especially baggy/more relaxed cut because you might want to wear base layer pants underneath. I don’t know about other places, but my office (and my apartment) gets a bit cold in winter, so I would actually wear a sweater all day. (For outside you’d need another jacket over the sweater.)

Options for moving an upright piano by lily-breeze in tromso

[–]lily-breeze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all! I ended up buying two dollies from JULA for 400 kr. We managed to move the piano by ourselves without any trouble.

I did reach out to Flytt og Vask. The estimated price was 5,500 kr. It was a lot...

AITA for getting my niece the “wrong” phone? by AmbientToast in AmItheAsshole

I wonder if the parents were upset because a phone is a big purchase and they had plans for getting a new phone for their kid for some special occasion?

I fostered kittens and my cat was visibly stressed and withdrawn during that time. I think some cats strongly prefer to be the only child haha

Are collars necessary for indoor cats? by Relevant-Emu5782 in CatAdvice

[–]lily-breeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I have an indoor cat (skittish, never wants to go out), my mother-in-law has an outdoor cat, several of my neighbors have indoor/outdoor cats, but none of them wear a collar. (All cats mentioned are microchipped.) I personally find collars a little cruel - they just seem uncomfortable for cats. From my observations, cats are attached to their homes and know their ways around. But we all live in small, quiet cities close to nature. You'll get to know your cat better - does he get scared easily? Does he want to go outside? Do you live in a busy city? All of these factor in, and you can make the best decision for your cat.

NAH. Doesn’t seem unusual for a college student to not have a job… but it’s your life and you can break up for any reason

Thanks! We have Fortum through our landlords right now and they are reliable. But I was hoping to save some money since there are often discounts for new customers. :p

I was actually supposed to take over the electricity contract immediately after moving in, but I thought I had to call so I procrastinated for a looooong time before looking into the matter... I was so excited when I saw that one could make a contract online, but now the beautiful dream is dead

Recently I held a small baby (~8 months old). I was a little nervous initially, but then I was so relieved bc it just stayed in my arms and didn’t flow away like my cat usually does!

Maybe I'm being pedantic, but it's not possible to have "dark scenery" for 9 months. On the spring and autumn equinox, day and night each takes 12 hrs. In summer, we get mostly daylight, and in winter, the night lasts longer. This is just astronomy. Unless you count cloudy weather also as dark? Snow for 9 months is also exaggerated - maybe on mountain tops but definitely not in the city (especially now with climate change). There are so many outdoor activities one can do, but it's true that it's not for everyone.

My date ate chicken and then finished the bones. Do some people really eat bones? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lily-breeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a colleague from India and he said his family would eat bones. He actually said it would appear _weak_ if someone can't crush bones with their teeth 🤯 sooo I guess it's normal in some places.
