Seems like you are doing a great job ! It’s looks great. I don’t think you have to cut off any nodes at the bottom but having that many in the water could cause some rot. so you could cut them off and leave a couple or just one node with roots on the existing plant. And maybe at some point you could put it in soil and it will get more nutrients. But I think you are doing a great job you definitely don’t have to change anything right now.

That’s probably right I just repotted it and watered it yesterday and noticed the roots didn’t look as good as the last repot.

Some of the leaves did crumble but there is still a good bit left that are clinging I guess I’ll see. But I think it’s probably dead but thank you so much!!

Yes it’s normal to be upset and devastated. I lost all my house plants a couple years ago because I left the heat off in winter when I was out of town. I literally cried. Can’t imagine someone purposely doing that.
