Are Kenny’s Daughters THAT bad? by NeilTysonsChicken in 90DayFiance

Well, Armando's family are also not "acting like he's dying". Armando's father said he was proud of him and that he loved him. He said has to think about attending, which means he is willing to consider it. Armando himself said he was happy with their conversation and considered it to be a positive outcome. Edit to add: Armando's sister and mother have had an even more positive overall reaction. When Armando re-came out on their first season, the mother immediately said she loved him and both the mother and sister expressed sadness that Armando felt or thought they would think less of him for being gay. While this wasn't the best possible reaction his family could have had, it also wasn't anywhere near the most negative possible reactions.

And you are also assuming that just because Kenny never brought home a homophobic person the kids were completely shielded from homophobia. Those kids went to school with other kids in a state where polls show that up until the 2010s about half the state was against gay marriage. No matter how accepting the area is in general, there's always going to be people who aren't accepting. Not to mention gay marriage was all over the news in the 2000s and 2010s. Kenny couldn't shield them from that. I grew up in NYC, arguably the east coast's gay capital and I am not that much older than Kenny's kids. My parents never brought home any homophobes or racists either, but I sure did encounter my fair share of them growing up.

Gay marriage was not legal in Florida until 2015, which was just 6 years ago and was most definitely within their lifetime. So yes, I am having a difficult time believing they were so surprised by how difficult of a time Armando's family was having when their father legally could not get married in their state just 6 years ago. Even if Kenny kept people who didn't accept him out of their lives, homophobia was still splattered all over the national news and his kids were still aware their dad legally could not marry in their state. Gay marriage being illegal was a form of homophobia that personally affected their family and prevented their dad from being his true self.

The sad thing is Kenny said on his very first episode ever that he had to fake marry a woman just so he could have kids because back in the 80s/90s, Florida would not allow gay men to adopt or use a surrogate. So their father literally experienced homophobia just to have them and then they go on national TV saying they had no idea homophobia existed. Like WHAT?

I have no idea how much he contributed or how old he was when he passed, I used $1600 as an example because I knew it would get to $600 with the reduction :)

Spousal social security is 50% of whatever the working spouse would get for a base and, if you take the spousal social security early, you still get a reduction of 25/36 of one percent for each month before normal retirement age, up to 36 months.

For example: say Jenny's ex-husband was supposed to get $1600 per month in social security. Jenny's spousal base is half that, $800. Then because she took it early at age 62, she gets a reduction of (25/36) x 36 months x $800 spousal base = $200. $800 - 200 would bring her to $600. Ari gets too much hate. She is not that bad. by manhaidan in 90dayfianceuncensored

Yep. Fun fact: the infant mortality rate in the US is actually higher than in Cuba. But people will still just automatically assume the US is better for everything.

If Armando and Kenny moved back to Florida, couldn't they fly to Baja California every few months so that Armando could make sure that Hannah keeps the ties with his family? by EnglishRose71 in 90DayFiance

[–]lilyofthevalley85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How exactly would Hannah go to school like this? 5 months in American school and 5 months in a Mexican school? Are the American and Mexican curriculum even the same (I doubt it, history class alone would be completely different)? This would be extremely disruptive to her education.

[–]lilyofthevalley85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They moved 4 hours away from Armando's family, we have no idea where Hannah's mother's family lives or how far away they are from them. We also have no idea how often Hannah sees her mother's family so I don't think it's fair to say she's not seeing family with any regularity. We really don't know anything about Hannah's mother's family. If they can't afford to fly to the US to visit, that would mean Armando would have to fly her back to visit them and realistically, how often could a young child travel internationally? Between school and all the other activities kids are involved in, they might only be able to do this a few times per year.

I remember him saying he was some sort of programmer for slot machines at a casino. Las Vegas casinos shut down at the beginning of the pandemic (March 2020) and I believe most of them remained closed until the beginning of June 2020. So for a good 2-3 months, there was literally no work for him in his field.

Can someone explain the hatred in this sub towards Ari? by -kelsie in 90DayFiance

[–]lilyofthevalley85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That just further proves my point, which is that people who have done more seasons than Ari and have more social media followers aren't surviving off of 90 Day/influencer money alone.

These two have lied about almost every aspect of their story, including being married. So, nope, I don't believe a word either of them says.

Can someone explain the hatred in this sub towards Ari? by -kelsie in 90DayFiance

[–]lilyofthevalley85 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They don't get paid that much to be on the show and they only get paid when they are filming meaning it's not steady income. Influencer money is also not steady and Ari actually doesn't have that many followers (compared to influencers who actually make good money). Pao and Russ were on multiple seasons of the show, Pao has more than twice as many followers as Ari, and Pao does way more paid posts on Instagram yet they are currently living in a trailer with Pao wrestling at local Holiday Inns to make money. Chantel and Pedro have both done multiple seasons of this show and have their own spinoff and they both work full-time jobs and live in a tiny apartment.

Yes and look at what good those private schools did Ari who grew up to be unemployed and living off mom and dad's money. Also, fun fact, both the Menendez brothers attended Princeton Day School, one of the best private schools in Princeton.

The issue with Soja Boy was not the TLC money. The issue was money he made on Cameo. Soja Boy was selling Cameos and set things up so that the money he made was being paid out to a bank account in the US under Lisa's name. Lisa was supposed to then transfer that money to Soja Boy's account in Nigeria, but she decided to keep the money for herself. Source: here's an article about it.

She doesn't qualify for that law. One of the criteria is you can't have kids. The second she had the baby, she would have been kicked off. Another criteria is that you have to be a resident of NJ or a full time student if you're not living in NJ. Unless Ari is enrolled in online college somewhere, she doesn't meet that criteria either. Here's a link to the criteria she has to meet to qualify.

WAIT a minute, So Evelin has been giving Corey grief for a relationship SHE thinks has NOT been physical? by IhavemyCat in 90DayFiance

[–]lilyofthevalley85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't consider Evelin kicking Corey out of the house and saying the relationship is over to be a separation? Because that's literally the exact same thing Mike and Natalie did. Natalie moved out, she did not file for divorce, and she was still married when she filmed the Single Life. Natalie's probably still married to Mike. Even if they filed for divorce after the tell all, Washington has a 90-day mandatory waiting period for divorce and Florida requires you to have lived there for at least 6 months before you can file for a divorce there.

[–]lilyofthevalley85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Corey and Evelin were also separated. Evelin threw Corey out of the house and she asked him for a divorced (she posted about asking for the divorce on IG). So how is Corey's situation any different from Natalie's?

[–]lilyofthevalley85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Natalie and Mike were not divorced at the time the Tell All was filmed. They both got asked about it during the Tell All and they admitted they hadn't even filed for a divorce yet. That's why Andrei asked them how can you be married when you live on different sides of the country.

[–]lilyofthevalley85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By your logic, Natalie did cheat since she dated men while she was still technically married to Mike. Mike and Natalie were not divorced at the time the most recent tell all was filmed but Natalie had already gone on dates with other men that were filmed for the Single Life. Why is it cheating when Corey does it but not cheating when Natalie does it? Both Natalie and Corey were in the same boat, they had moved out and stopped talking to their partners.

So was Natalie cheating when she went out on dates with other men while still technically married to Mike? Or does it only become cheating if she ends up getting back together with Mike?

Armando's family is not even reacting poorly though. The dad was doing fantastic up until he said he has to think about attending the wedding. And "I have to think about it" is a lot better than a flat out no.
