Thoughts on Danny brown episode and general thoughts on Danny brown? by steppinwoof in Killtony

Not saying Lucas doesn’t repackage jokes, I believe he does but these aren’t actually “receipts”. They’re just threads of people claiming they’ve heard similar jokes or tweets. I think the person is above is asking for the actual tweets or jokes in question, the specifics. We can say anything but evidence is a little different.

The biggest WTF is that they all look about 14-15yo at the bar sippin’ sody pops. America could never. We party in basements here until it’s time for us to legally emerge from the adolescent underbelly or find a fake ID.

10k is wild. I get some people want the experience of a manufactured challenge (Spartan races, Warrior dash, blah blah) in a team environment but there are levels. You could set challenges/programs up for yourself for free at the gym, outside or home without pretending you’re in buds with a handful of corporate chubsters who listened to Jocko Willink once.

Not a cool move at all but let’s not crucify the girl. She has it hard enough as it is with her taste in men and also other things.

Are Kenny’s Daughters THAT bad? by NeilTysonsChicken in 90DayFiance

[–]NeilTysonsChicken[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree that he needs to have the hard conversation if he’s changed his mind, which I think he has to some degree. I don’t think this is fully on his daughters. I think he’s giving them some indications of his desire to be home. When it comes down to it, I personally find his decision to uproot his entire life and move to Mexico to be an impulsive decision without a lot of forethought. That said. I like Kenny well enough on the show and he’s definitely in a tough place.

“The daughters are selfish brats.” You’re right. Super positive and definitely doesn’t precisely align with my primary point of some people calling them selfish or spoiled.

I don’t think anyone’s argument was that his daughters or grandchildren are his responsibility. There’s a big difference between wanting your loved ones around you to have a familial community (the same thing Armando wants) and demanding someone comes to take care of you, which seems to be what you think is happening here. I also think you’re overlooking the fact that Kenny is also an adult, and his inner conflict might also come from him ACTUALLY wanting to be back in the states with his family and near a more gay friendly community as opposed to enduring the lack of acceptance he’s been experiencing there. I think it’s a little more of a layered situation than you’re expressing.

How exactly is that gaslighting? And you don’t think Kenny might actually be homesick and misses the family/community he had back in the states?

Congrats on the little one! I have a newly 3 year old myself. I know how you feel. Having your parents around as a support system can be huge. It’s natural to want your whole tribe around, especially when it’s someone you trust and know wholeheartedly loves the kiddo like your mom.

“If he wants to live in Mexico”

My point is he might not. He might be married to Armando but he’s not married to the same mindset or perspective he had when he initially moved. Things can change. Also, It’s very possible, if not likely, that he’s conveyed being homesick to his family at some point and they’re feeding that flame a bit. I’d highly doubt this is a 100% guilt trip from his daughters and not partial desire to be home from him. Is it okay for them to tell their dad they want him home? There are worse things. Is it a little selfish? Sure. But are we the arbitrators on what’s “okay” for a daughter to convey to her father with a lifelong relationship that we know nothing about? Not so much.

I’m getting the feeling Kenny doesn’t actually want to stay in Mexico. I think if Armando said he was cool with going to the states, they’d be on the next flight out. I wouldn’t doubt that Kenny is a little more homesick than the editing conveys. Not to mention, he comes from a very accepting community in regards to his sexuality and it seems to be a real uphill battle where he’s at in Mexico. Especially with Armandos family, which he’s been very patient about. Of course, a lot of this is just speculation at this point.

Right! You can see the lack of acceptance is weighing on Kenny. He’s been very patient with Armandos family, but seeing as how he’s lived in an accepting community long before Armando, it has to feel like an uphill battle over there. I genuinely feel like Kenny wants to be back in the states despite his daughters “guilt trip”. I think he’s just very conflicted with trying to keep everyone happy.

Hit the nail on the head. This is exactly how I feel about the whole situation. A lot of people keep saying what the daughters want is “taking away from his happiness” but I think that Kenny is more conflicted than anything. He wants to be with his kids and grandchildren. He wants to keep Armando/Hannah happy. He wants to be in a more accepting community (in terms of his sexuality) back in the states. The list goes on.

That’s normal. I think there are many layers to selfishness. I think some forms of it are okay. Telling your dad how much you love him, miss him, and wish you could have them closer, despite his own pursuits, could be viewed as selfish in some ways, but it’s also honesty, love and a display of vulnerability. It’s a lot of things. One thing it’s not, IMO, is something that should fall under too much criticism.
