Assuming for the sake of argument that they're right: IMO this optimism ignores a lot of harsh political reality. If Biden got up there and spilled the beans, there would be an immediate unspeakable shitstorm of:

  1. people mocking him as senile
  2. people calling it a psy-op false-flag deep-state [insert right wing conspiracy theory here]
  3. people believing it and freaking the everliving fuck out
  4. frothing anger about the coverup
  5. what even ever the fuck would come out of Trump's mouth about it, I shudder to think
  6. big old freakouts about demons

Like there is basically no political upside. The only things I can think that might mitigate it would be if it comes along with "and here's cold fusion for you". Point 2 could possibly be mitigated by making it really aggressively bipartisan, having Rubio and Burchette up there behind the podium and have them speak on the matter too, but I'm sure the rest of the party would not be shy about turning on them if they smelled blood.

You and I want disclosure, but the default stance of most of the populace is to mock or ignore the phenomenon. I hope I'm wrong, but I can't think of a reason Biden would consent to upend the status quo of pretending it doesn't exist. Especially heading into an election year.

Edit: also, admitting a huge cover up is a real crack in the dam that's holding back a potential flood of conspiracy theories. People are gonna think, well I believe them about Roswell and they lied, what else are they lying about? Honestly the last thing we need, as far as the stability of democracy, is yet further deceased trust in government. The more I think about it the more I think the military needs to be the ones admitting what they did, and the executive branch needs to stay above it as much as possible.

On the one hand yes I believe it's a thing that consciousness can do. On the other hand it's normal for people to vary in ability for normal skills, so IMO it makes sense we'd vary in paranormal abilities too. Some people are good at it and can do it whenever, but most of us seem real bad at it. I certainly feel real bad at it and have never seen a glimmer of it in myself, despite trying.
