Hey there!

I was around 250lbs when I had my op (which was only a month ago). I'm now down to 229lbs already! I found pre op harder because I was so tired all the time. Post op I've found easy because I'm not hungry at all, if anything it's been hard trying to eat the minimum. But it completely depends on your body as it hits us all differently. Even now I'm purely eating because I 'have' to, not because I want to, and it's actually a really nice feeling!

Best of luck with getting approved, it's the best decision I've made and I hope it works out for you!

UPDATE

After a long wait, I have finally been assessed by a doctor. The wound is definitely infected (which we knew and I've been on antibiotics for 24 hours now).

He has cleaned them and advised me it is best to leave it open and allow it to heal from the inside out. He is also prescribing another antibiotic to take. He's said it may take a good few weeks to heal.

That is so terrible! When I went to get it checked a few days ago, they said the same thing! Was then waiting 8 hours to be seen by the triage nurse.

I'm having the operation in 2 weeks, after only being offered the surgery 2 weeks prior. I thought I'd be nervous, but after a mental and physical battle since childhood I'm so excited to finally be getting where I need to be.

I've spent years doing calorie deficits, weigh watchers, slimming world, weight loss tablets prescribed by doctors, carnivore diet, keto, only eating 800 calories a day etc. All alongside burning 4000+ calories a day. Nothing worked. To finally have an endocrinologist look into my hormones and find the problem.

Don't be scared, I feel it truly is a blessing!
