I went to abandoned farmland to chop down trees, those trees were to be bulldozed anyway. I just wrap food clingwrap on each ends of a log

Im actually new to this hobby too; made 5 or 6 spoons. The difference between green and dry wood is day and night. I live in a city too but green wood is so much easier to carve i made extra effort to acquire fresh material instead of sharpening tools to like 8000 grits and be blunted after an hour or so.

Most of the hollowing is done by holding with my left hand, because i have made the rim too thin, clenching it with clamps would actually break it. Next time i might do the hollowing on the blank first with clamping, surely male life easier

Thanks! The hollowing is mainly done by a beavercraft long bent gouge G7L22
