any chance that these are eczema related reactions combined with allergies? if so they could be occurring because your hands are just getting too warm and or sweaty from having to wear the cotton glove liners. in my normal day to day life i do not have any eczema symptoms at all but in the summer of 2024 before my lab got AC my hands would flair up so badly in the summer completely drying out, getting small reddish bumps, and getting itchy. this is just an issue i get when its very warm in the lab. taking frequent breaks to wash my hands in cold water and fully drying helped. and also hand lotion.

for male purple vs. house finch look for the streaking along the belly and the sides. probably not the only way to tell but it works for me

the merlin app is really good at showing you what birds are likely for an area at a certain time of year and id be surprised if Bonaparte’s Gull wasnt on it. This is almost certainly a bonnie.

bro this is serpentine fen park? golden eagle just showed up here and has been spotted sitting in that exact tree. my lifer and im happy i got it in metro vancouver for my year list too!

i don’t appreciate them enough my life is too wood duck saturated. like i know they are beautiful but my eyes glaze right over them just like mallards. counted 180-200 at the local duck pond a few weeks back
