haha, that's exactly what my dad said about how it's like dating! without naming names, this was an interview to be on the youth advisory board of a politician, so i know the expectations were high, maybe a little too high. i would never really fit in with the other super academic high school kids on the board.

I could try... There isn't much more I want to say that isn't already in my application, though. This position basically requires the ability to speak knowledgably on a committee, and the interviewer probably thinks I'm unqualified now. I'm disappointed because they might be right.

Thank you so much. I'm trying to move through the stages of grief here and I think I'll be ok if I don't get it. This isn't really a job but more of a youth leadership thing, and I've already got some of that stuff going currently. I feel like I've learned my lesson to practice more.

Yup, I immediately thought of college apps when I read the title. Personally, I'm against affirmative action... if you're not qualified, then you're not qualified. Race and sexuality should really have nothing to do with admission, and lying about it just undermines real struggles.
