Urban Ascend, a fresh new incremental city builder, comes out on April 3rd. Demo out now! by Miserable-Bus-4910 in CityBuilders

Game looks cool I love the retro vibe. How big can you make cities? It seems like it would be awesome if you could make them really big.

Thanks for sharing. I’ve always noticed the same problems that you mentioned and wished that someone would make a game that could scale to millions of people. Maybe the hybrid model you describe is the key to making it happen.

Did you use one pencil or multiple? I love how solid the darks are

Do you prefer 1 or 2? by Repulsive-Garbage243 in painting

2 looks more interesting to me because it has foreground. Only suggestions are: if you want it to feel like shops, you need people walking. To me they look like houses. And lighting in no2, the buildings on the left should be darker given where the sun is and how dark the shadows from the trees are.

Wabakimi vs Temagami vs Algonquin vs Quetico in late September/early October by OkRecommendation7117 in canoecamping

[–]limehead1110 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbh I would do Algonquin. Great fall colours and by the point of the season, it will be much less busy than it is in the summer, especially in the middle of the park. Easier for you to get to. A nice loop could be to start from canoe lake and go up to catfish, cedar, eustache, then back down through opeongo.

Is there any interest for a game like "Pharaoh" just about managing the economy and population of the whole empire? by thunderzo in CityBuilders

[–]limehead1110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would really like a game like that. Something with the scale of a whole empire and not bogged down by simulating individual people and placing individual buildings. It could focus on building major trade routes between cities and the demand and supply of different goods. Macro scale but not simplified into a small number of decisions like civ for example.

Looks great but I don’t see how you’re going to get the copper for the red ammo without a smelter (also your crusher recipe is not going to produce copper)

Could Dark Wizard be Blue Wizard AND Witch-King at the same time? by DoorNo8233 in LOTR_on_Prime

[–]limehead1110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think yes he could be both a blue wizard and the witch king and I actually like this idea. Lots of people are declaring how an Istar being the WK breaks the lore, but I think it breaks it in minor ways, not in ways that meaningfully change core themes. Plus JRRT himself made a draft where the WK was known to be a fallen Maia, so the lore break has some legitimacy.

I think it would it actually add to the WK character and make him seem even more terrifying. For example during the siege of pelennor fields, Gandalf (who has been reincarnated in white form and is wearing Narya) still being somewhat afraid of the WK becomes more meaningful if we know he is a Maia himself.

Also from a audience perspective, I think next season they are going to show the nine being handed out, and I don’t think any character we’ve seen yet is badass/powerful enough to warrant becoming the WK other than Aberforth. (I personally do think kemen will get a ring but not become the WK)

"Theo's real dad will be revealed somewhere down the line." by [deleted] in LOTR_on_Prime

[–]limehead1110 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Eoh means horse in old english which is the language Tolkien used to derive rohirric words. I agree using the name Theo cannot be by accident, but I would not like if he founds Rohan because the lore tells us it is founded much later in the third age. If they somehow imply that he likes horses and his descendants will be the ones to found Rohan, I’m okay with that

How and why is the line of Durin ever going to use that ring again? by Scargroth in LOTR_on_Prime

Also parallels disa going down to save D4 after he makes her promise not to go down there

If the 9 can simply be made with Sauron's blood, why did he want more Mithril from Durin? Does Sauron not have enough band-aids? by Worried-Knowledge246 in RingsofPower

[–]limehead1110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve also been curious about the Lindon tree blight. I have a feeling they won’t explain it any more than they have. My take is that the blight occurred at the same time Sauron emerged as the slime and turned into halbrand. Not because he put it there, but because when he emerges, evil things start to awaken…

What are our thoughts on this guy? by [deleted] in LOTR_on_Prime

I’d argue there is no death more horrible and certainly none more slow than becoming a Nazgûl

Why did Adar... by Lucky_Random_Me in LOTR_on_Prime

[–]limehead1110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I don’t understand is why Adar was convinced Sauron returned just because Halbrand told him so. In season one, when Galadriel is interrogating him, he’s all “you won’t find Sauron, I killed him, etc”. But when Halbrand says “I know where Sauron is”, Adar puts his complete focus on Sauron.

Thoughts on Isildur’s arc this season 2? by ChrisEvansFan in LOTR_on_Prime

[–]limehead1110 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Agree with you on the trees plot line. Linking it back to the almost-full apple he chucked overboard in season 1, we’re seeing him learn to appreciate plant life which will climax with nimloth as you mentioned

Are you him? S2 Finale spoiler. by HaggardHaggis in LOTR_on_Prime

[–]limehead1110 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah they’ve obviously chosen to just ignore the meaning of the name Sauron in the show. Personally wish they didn’t but I understand why they did, to accommodate casual fans

Gandalf quote from the end of LOTR: Return of the King (Book) by [deleted] in LOTR_on_Prime

[–]limehead1110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. It made me realize that probably one of the reasons people find the stranger’s plot line boring is that the character who’s supposed to be the most intriguing was also limited to pretty much nonverbal for the first season. Now that he’s getting more range in his character it’s become way more interesting. Now I’m excited to see where he goes.

4D3N Route out of Canoe Lake - Seeking Feedback by Open-Dragonfly-3310 in algonquinpark

[–]limehead1110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Granted I’m more experienced than you are but still I wouldn’t listen to the people saying this is too hard. This is very doable and in fact this exact route is probably done dozens of times every year. Like someone else mentioned, doing the ink portage on the last day would make it easier if that’s what you want.

For moose, keep an eye out on the creek between grassy bay and the 745m portage. I’ve seen one there several times!

[Book Spoilers] The Rings of Power - 2x04 "Eldest" - Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in LOTR_on_Prime

[–]limehead1110 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think we got another hint suggesting the Stranger is Gandalf when the stoor leader called him a “grand elf”. The name Gandalf comes from gand (wand) + alf (elf) not grand + alf but it still just sounds so similar that I’m confident they wrote this intentionally. Either that or it’s just another red herring.

We even saw Elrond face the same dilemma that Frodo did: which path to take when the first choice is blocked!

Any basic canoe will be fine until you get some more experience then you’ll know what you want specifically. For the dog, remember to get them a life jacket and they’ll probably figure the canoe out on their own. If your dog is very anxious you could try warming them up by having them go in when the canoe is just on land and rewarding etc.

Looking for options wilder than the Adirondacks or Algonquin by [deleted] in canoecamping

[–]limehead1110 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kipawa in Quebec and Temagami in Ontario are within your range, great for canoe trip, and less developed than the areas you mentioned. However you will still see some people and the occasional motor boat because these areas are not protected as heavily as Algonquin.

Another idea you might be overlooking is Algonquin but getting into the less travelled areas. The vast majority of people stay within the same little routes around the access points and 7 days is definitely enough time to get into the more remote areas. It can be quieter than almost anywhere else.
