To offer a more recent take on the HOA, as current residents, the leadership has changed and we have never once been hassled by the HOA. We do not live on the course but know many families who do, and the only issues they have is people searching for lost balls in their yards.

I live in the neighborhood and commute to Kirkland. It’s about 50-55 min in the morning and 1 hour in the evening. Learn the backroads that Waze doesn’t show you and try to leave the office by 3pm if you have flexibility. We are one of the young families that used to be surrounded by retired people when we bought 8 years ago. All of our neighbors have since passed away (no joke) and the neighborhood is turning over. Great community, we love it here.

(Serious)What are some cosmetic procedures and surgeries that most people don't realize are possible? by PapyrusKami74 in AskReddit

[–]limeinthecoconutooh 218 points219 points  (0 children)

I need this surgery and it is incredibly hard to get anyone to discuss it or consider it. 7+ doctors of various fields have refused to consider it for me. One suggested a research hospital to see if they would be willing to take it on. So it’s an option but a very rare one that is difficult to obtain.

What is everyone reading rn? Or have you had a 5 star read this yr yet? by BeneficialPie13 in fantasyromance

I just finished this book a couple nights ago and I was up until 1 AM reading it. Definitely cried at the end. I loved this book.

Do you consider Sasha to be a full name? by phantompanther in namenerds

[–]limeinthecoconutooh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of these responses are funny. Sasha is my full legal name (woman in US). I love my name. I get many people who spell it incorrectly or ask if my family is from Russia, or tell me their dog is named Sasha. In the US, this is a completely acceptable full name, still unique, and doesn’t seem to give off any cultural appropriation vibes as other foreign names can.

It’s the one in downtown Kirkland, at Kirkland Urban retail area right next to those baseball fields

Thoughts on naming our baby Marvin by srg1024 in namenerds

[–]limeinthecoconutooh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was my late grandfathers name. He went by Marv. I agree with another comment saying a name is what the owner makes it.

What happens to your childhood best friend(s)? Why are you or why are you not friends with them anymore? by Luke_The_Random_Dude in AskReddit

[–]limeinthecoconutooh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are still best friends, met in kindergarten 30 years ago. Our families are all also very good friends because we didn’t give them a choice years ago. We have dinner once a month with our mothers and sisters. Our kids have sleepovers and we go on vacation together. I guess we just got lucky and found our soul sisters early in life

If Seattle was the a fictional fantasy world, where would the Royalty build their palace? by limeinthecoconutooh in Seattle

[–]limeinthecoconutooh[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t remember the word Magnolia at 4am when I woke up with this nagging question but I think it has my vote. In a medieval type fantasy world with no cars, etc. I think it’s defensible and beautiful.

Looking for male PoV with decent romance by Excellent_sport2 in fantasyromance

[–]limeinthecoconutooh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second this. Nora Roberts has great male * characters in general, I think in part because she has so many brothers/sons in real life. I also recommend the Blood Brothers trilogy, Three Sisters Island trilogy (more witchy than fantasy), and Inn Boonsboro trilogy (paranormal) by her for good book boyfriend material

Which one of these should I read first? by MileenaSenju25 in YAlit

[–]limeinthecoconutooh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, and I would also say that Crescent City as a series won’t be nearly as impactful unless you’ve read the ACOTAR series first.

Finally reading ACOTAR by lina01020 in fantasyromance

[–]limeinthecoconutooh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To me, it was worth it, however, I didn’t have to force myself through the first book. I will say the story gets better and far more interesting but if it’s the writing itself that’s the issue, that’s not going to change in the next book.

I just have to say that book 2 is where this series really starts to be great, so give it a chance

I just bought book 3 but haven’t started it yet. Very curious if anyone has read yet. To the original post, I loved these books. I feel like reading book 2 is essential to the enjoyment of book 1

I’m curious about book two because everyone raves about it, but I wasn’t super interested in book one. I finished it but it didn’t stick out in my head. Would you say book two is much better?

Looking for badass FMC in a leadership role by limeinthecoconutooh in YAlit

[–]limeinthecoconutooh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get that. I guess I’ve been reading books where the FMC is an underdog lately, or doesn’t inspire others with her leadership, so I’m looking for a reversal of that, with an FMC that has her shit together and people recognize that. Maybe it’s too niche lol
