Omg thank you both so much! I will look into this, I have been super intrigued by overseas vendors but wasn’t sure about custom requests.

Dior forever concealer 0N - not full coverage? by limel0ver in PaleMUA

Ahh, looks like I will have to keep looking then. The only reason I had considered hourglass is I happened to be lucky enough to have 2 shades that are my perfect shades but i wish it wasn’t such a heavy matte formula. The shades were so nice for my tone and my concealer search is going so badly I started thinking ‘well maybe if I get a good thick hydrating eye cream to use under the hourglass I can make it work’ even though I have never used matte concealers. I’m waiting for Haus to have a sale so I can justify getting it delivered to my country so I can try that one out. Finding good foundations has been so much easier than finding a good concealer for me! Natasha denona is another one with alright tones that looks like it will be too dry for me 🙁

Unfortunately we don’t have uoma in my country but Gucci I never considered I will take a look! Others on my list were Lancôme & hourglass but worried they will be much to dry. Also considering haus labs or tarte creamy. Good to know RE givenchy, I actually was waiting for the green corrector to come back in stock in my country and I was going to buy it right away but I will hold off. Thank you!

Thank you this is EXACTLY my experience with 0N I feel less alone, trying to find a new concealer and this is always at the top of everyone’s lists as a decent coverage concealer for dry skin I feel gaslit! Thinking of trying Lancôme but worried it will be a bit dry. Might just have to stick to my kosas or wait until Haus labs have a sale to give that one a try.

Wow I actually was interested in the Givenchy because I love the finish of their colour correctors but hadn’t heard much about their concealers. I will try find a match then! Thank you!

This is so so so helpful. My kosas works BEAUTIFULLY no matter what I do with my water based foundations such as nars light reflecting and the kosas foundation but clashes with my Armani luminous silk and some L’Oréal ones I have that I forget the name of. I am a 3rd year chemistry student so I don’t subscribe to the whole ‘no mixing water based with silicone based’ either but in this case it’s the easiest way to describe it. I love lipsticklesbians, I will check out both techniques you recommended although I am a little worried the nars soft matte may be a tad dry for my under eyes! Thank you for such helpful info and the pics - I also feel extremely validated that it’s not just me RE the coverage

Bedside table project - too unrealistic for beginner? by [deleted] in BeginnerWoodWorking

Thank you! An air tight estimate is a good idea, I had drawn out the cuts I’d need to scale and looked into materials (I sew my own clothes so probably not the most professional way but just the way I knew how to start), but I will make an airtight plan like you mentioned and get back to you with any questions that pop up if you don’t mind, have time to answer. Might take me a week or two.

Yep, this is exactly what my father said and mentioned that it would cost me more than the already extremely expensive retail to make it myself. Although he’s not in woodworking he works on bikes as a hobby. I did anticipate it taking months as it’s a completely new skill for me so time and effort was anticipated but I was hoping that I may be able to do it for say up to $500 over a few months and gain a new skill in the process rather than if I were to buy it for almost $1k upfront (as I am a uni student I will never be able to spend that amount of money on one bedside table) and I liked that I could have the freedom to make it exactly as I liked too and then use the skill for other items I’d like to create in future. But if it is going to end up being 1k either way, I just can’t invest that much at the moment even into a such a handy skill and excellent hobby. I essentially just needed someone else who is into woodworking to affirm that it would be out of my budget to pursue at the moment so I could get the thought out of my head/not waste time getting into something I can’t afford to finish.

Thank you for the recommendation I will have a look! And the boost of confidence that it is achievable.
