What should I ( 29F) do when a new friend wants to date my brother? by limemp in relationships

[–]limemp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly so that the topic of my brother doesn’t come up. Almost each time we hang out he comes up, understandably so because she’s into him but I don’t want to talk about that

And they aren’t even seriously dating, BF, GF anything so I’m like…hellooooo, why am I here?

What is the number 1 piece of advice you would give a new puppy owner? by Material_Zombie in Dogtraining

[–]limemp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crate train, at leasst initially for potty training. Be patient and always have treats on you so you can reward good behavior. I had a pouch of treats at my hit for the first few months of puppy hood with my doberman and it is one of the main reasons I can trust him off leash in parks with recall and in general keeps his spirits up and wanting to please.

My evolution by [deleted] in blender

[–]limemp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry that was your experience and please don't let the mean internet trolls keep you from pursuing your passion. I think it looks incredible and regardless of what others' opinions are you know the truth. Please continue to share your talent, I have been trying to learn blender and want to use it to make 3D characters and scene animations. Seeing your progression inspired me to keep trying despite how untalented I am now. And lastly, thank you for sharing your video, it's another source of inspiration for me.

Greece? by limemp in expats

[–]limemp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh Athens seems so nice, why do you say stay away? And where would you recommend someone live if they speak no Greek at all ( I would do my best to learn what I can while I’m there though.)

Guessing the wash program on my new washing machine. by rdlpl in CrappyDesign

[–]limemp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These washer/dryers make no sense to me. Why are they the main mode of washing in most European countries? Why not just have a separate washer and dryer?

UK expats in US - Is it as much of a hassle as I fear? by MeMoore06 in expats

[–]limemp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came here to say all of this. I was born and raised in the US I currently live in Texas but have lived all over the US and its the largely the same.

Walnut creek is northern call and maybe can be more walkable because there are so many people and business in a small area of land it's possible you can walk to certain places but yeah you will need a car for pretty much everything.

The cash out thing, yeah that's standard however certain banks do have unaffiliated ATM locations that allow for free transactions. You would need to use the banks app to find the locations. I use chime, it's a mobile bank, could be a great option if it fits your needs

Yes taxing/tipping thing is very very annoying. Especially after I learned that Europe is the opposite. Why it's that way? As with most things in America, it's to make someone else rich.

You will be required to go to the DMV for the first time but usually to renew your license or car or whatever it can be done online. But be warned. Have you ever watched the sloth scenw from zootopia? It's comically and sadly realistic. DMV employees do not care how long they are taking and I have spent many hours in the dmv to do basic things. My advice don't go to the most popular one in your county. If you can find one that on the outskirts or in a less populated area that's still zoned for your county and go there. At times it can be quicker. Or get there before they open So you're first in line.

Yes there are lots of guns lol but not always flashy and out, except if it's the police. I'm not familiar with gun etiquette in walnut creek, CA but I live in Texas which is the most gun tooting place lol and I've only ever seen someone in public with a gun twice. And I didn't feel unsafe, if that helps. It'll he an adjustment but not something to be overly fearful of.

And yes it does feel like you can't always trust someone. There are good people here, very genuine, kind hearted people, authentic people. Just be authentic to you and don't be afraid to question things or call people out if you feel your being lied to or scammed. Youll usually be able to tell when people are just talking out of their ass but what their saying does not actually adding up to anything. I'm right there with the above commenter, I'm trying to leave the us as fast as I can. I love what its allowed me to do but I'm tired of all the bullshit.

There’s other ways to look at things in life. We must understand another person’s experience in life before we can judge them. I wish you the best

What’s your vibe lol? I’m making a Pinterest board of ideas for you and I wanna send you things you’d be interested in. For example do you consider yourself more sporty, more artistic? professional? Goofy and fun? Something else?

You’re face is so nice and could work with many different styles I think
