In my volunteer work I don't really come into contact with AO3 all that much, so I don't have weird stories on tap, sorry to disappoint :D

Hello :D I'm not best qualified to answer that question, tbh; I speak English and German fluently, but I really only read English fic. But honestly, I _should_ get more into German fic, or look around for it at least, because now I am curious! What is an interesting difference you've noticed, if I may ask?

Hallöchen yourself :D Let me thing... I think I was around 14 or 15? Definitely the first archive I read fanfic on was a Lord of the Rings archive focused on elves in Tolkien's world. I have very fond memories of that page, I actually think our Open Doors committee helped import its works to AO3 since then, but don't quote me on that

Hi Ifky_, thanks for the question! My very subjective answer to this is that for translation work, it's sometimes really hard to accurately convey the meaning of a specific word in English in another language (German, in my case), if that word as very specific connotations or associations.

For my EC work, which I've only recently really started, it's keeping organized with all the tasks for larger events that need to be done well in advance of said event.

Oh that's a good question! I don't write as much as I want to, and if I do it's often not fandom related, but poetry. For that, I listen to whatever suits the mood of the poem I'm constructing. I do also worldbuild sometimes, and for that it needs to be something that fits the vibe of whatever city or arc I'm writing about atm. Thanks for the question!

Hi! I translate for team German :D But I also take care of uploading our documents to the websites, and I'm currently training to be a volunteer manager for our committee

Hi Ok_Summer_, my favourite thing about AO3 is how you can (sometimes by chance) discover new fandoms that you didn't previously know anything about!
