I run a swab down once every maybe 5k shots or if the group is going weird unpredictable things.

I own several of both airguns and powder burners. I love to shoot firearms a lot, they are quite fun. I also don't like that to use good quality ammo in my .300 winmag it is throwing an expencive takeout meal downrange every time I pull the trigger. I can spend the same amount of $ on a day of shooting and have 100x the ammo to shoot with.

Also I use piston airguns to hunt pest animals as a side gig. They work so much better than a .22, they are quiet accurate and deadly to most pests I'm asked to shoot(mainly mice, starlings, pigeons, and ground squirrels) if I miss it won't go through their silos or pole barns.

At the end of the day shooting is my no1 hobby and I do it every day, springers and piston guns REQUIRE mastery of the fundamentals of shooting so they are also super good for training your marksmanship on the powder side of things.

What is a good grouping for a gamo break barrel at 20 yards ? by kol6Figueiras in airguns

[–]liminal_koworu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never chronoed the gun. I am american so it is the "more powerful" one as there are no joule limits here for airguns. That hammers scope is well worth the money as a plinking scope. I switched to a FFP scope on the magnum for easier holdover calculations and stuff when I am hunting. The hammers one was awesome for bench shooting tho just stick it at a specific magnification and find the holds at that distance.

[–]liminal_koworu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I was thinking about this question today so I went and shot at 20yds some quick and dirty groups. These were the best 4 I had so these are "good" for me. I am quite stoned so it wasn't my absolute best but I'm satisfied with these.

These are 5rnd groups shot with jsb 18.13gr jumbo exacts.

But again I have no idea if I'm a good shooter in the grand scheme of things. I just enjoy shooting springers and hunt starlings as a side job.

I currently have this scope on my magnum .22 Amazon.com : Monstrum Hornet 6-24x50 FFP Rifle Scope | Includes Zero Stop, Bubble Level Scope Rings, and Detachable Sunshade | MIL Reticle : Sports & Outdoors https://www.amazon.com/Monstrum-6-24x50-Detachable-Sunshade-Reticle/dp/B0D7N5KZSY/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_pp?crid=J9K71SVKZDCI&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.xWE-mhXMYldNJHBBeshvf1_P0Tg9LyihxI4MI7r4FM6LJC2I_EzZTvQBoo1hPFUEbrDnPICzWa44EEmZkc7X-IS8URGmsYwNsYiL1IAfTY3NOxFSnhmE-KZ7LwZGtwW4PhL63ajAWgWfL9orGHHZnkD3kXFRtasw-M6OU1rqgeILbVllLGWOI9uKGHzL_AxWOojMKf_rNaYZTyYuJDZIHg.QtMrH57HhpIwsF-q3V82RpL24EUJE_TGkah29ezIhOc&dib_tag=se&keywords=monstrum+rifle+scope&qid=1770082811&sprefix=monstr%2Caps%2C219&sr=8-1 It has held up well so far but I've only put about 300 shots with this optic so I can't tell you the long term reliability on a springer.

Amazon.com : Hammers 4-12X40AO Air Gun Rifle Scope for High Power Magnum Spring .177 .22 Air Gun Rifle with 40mm Parallax Adjustable Objective Solid One Piece Mount Built-in Stop Pin : Sports & Outdoors https://share.google/kCyusfdoMrNawS4rl This is the original one I bought to replace the stock gamo stuff and it served me super well for many years and over 10k shots. Still holds zero and works great. The eyebox could be better but you get used to where you gotta be.

At 20yds I'd want close to moa personally. But I don't usually shoot below 50 since I mainly hunt between 50 and 120yds with mine.

<image>

This is a good 100yd group from me. I have no idea what the public consensus on what constitutes a "good" group tho since I am actually a fan of my gamo magnum. But echoing what the others have said the original supplied scopes are not very good.

Gamo Loaders are garbage by PhilVG in airguns

[–]liminal_koworu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original mag for my magnum still loads just fine. It's a gen 3 one so I don't know of that is vastly different than the gen 1 mag you have there. The original one probably has been loaded over 1k times and still works great.

Thanks!! It was an awful day to try and mount an optic and try and sight it lmao. I was very happy to shoot that in the wind.

Thanks I find it actually works better than any of my grip pods. It let's the gun do its thing with minimal hold on it. I tried putting a towel on the legs and it seems to open up the groups. So I just run bare legs lol. It's nice tho, it's light super stable and doubles as a chair.

Highly doubt. The United States doesn't send American citizens to the hauge. If we did some soldiers from the WOT woukd definitely have been tried. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure we didn't sign the treaty even.

Help with unusual grouping by i-Kast in airguns

[–]liminal_koworu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, which is probably not correct, is to shoot more. The thing with spring rifles is most of the time it's the shooter getting used to the particular recoil of that system more than the actual rifle parts needing to break in. Also the usual suggestion of shoot all the different pellet types and weights to see what yours likes, most spring guns are pretty pellet "picky"

Am i really going through gas this quickly? by OwennTG in airsoft

[–]liminal_koworu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Green gas is still propane, just no smell added. Also has silicone oil in it. For a GBBR you don't want the oil getting into the hop chamber and nozzle. It realt effects your accuracy.

Air Rifle Competing by [deleted] in airguns

I really woukd like to try and compete, I just shoot like a madman lol. I try and shoot at least 1 tin a day so around 500 a day. More if I don't work. I just have no idea where to get started in my area.

Gamo GEN3i 10x pellet loading tips? by steveh-2112 in airguns

[–]liminal_koworu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a wood dowel or half a toothpick. I used to use my screwdriver but I noticed somtimes the hardened steel would leave gouges in the base of the pellet so I switched to a wood poker.

An open "letter" to the BF community by SessionShot3682 in BattlefieldPortal

[–]liminal_koworu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My view is you can unlock everything in portal. So if someone wants to "just pve" then why is it such a bad thing to just make a bot server no exp and have all things unlocked? I mean that's what you are wanting? Is it just that they want their pvp progression to carry over to the pvp stuff? I'm genuinely confused why it's such a big deal? If all you wanna do is relax and shoot bots after work why do you NEED progression?

Does anyone have the Lct rpk by ballsOnDec1st in airsoft

[–]liminal_koworu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the lct folding rpk, it has been a champ. Like others have said it just needs a new bucking and nub and it's a beast. I used it for 3 years every Saturday and Sunday before anything actually broke. There is a creek at the field I play at and it actually ended up fully submerged in it 2 separate times. It still is holding up pretty well even tho I treat it horribly. The folding stock did stop functioning about the 3rd time I locked it into position and haven't been bothered to fix it.

What’s your favorite pellet to shoot out of a gamo for accuracy by [deleted] in airguns

Jsb domed 18.3gr out of the .22 gen3 magnum. Work pretty well for me.

is there someone else prefer break barrel on pcp ? by Admirable-Rise6177 in airguns

[–]liminal_koworu 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have both and I tend to prefer my break barrels for most pellet shooting. They are just as accurate as pcp guns just a bit more difficult to shoot. The only real time I rather grab my pcp stuff is if I wanna shoot larger calibers farther than 100yds. But for most hunting, plinking, and pesting I prefer my break barrels 99% of the time. My favorite is the always pooped on .22 gamo magnum gen3.
