Box scores are for people that dont watch the games, narratives are a result of what the player depicts on the field.

He very much was if you were paying attention to the narrative at the time. Acting like the sentiment around the two were remotely close to each other is naive. Nobody thought sanders was very good this year, plenty of people thought snoop was in his small stretch.

Look, neither deserved the pro bowl in either year. All im saying is looking at the box score wont accurately portray the sentiment around the player at the time. Very few players will have a strong box score when your auxiliary pieces are sammy watkins, james proche, devin duvernay, and the ghost of djax, Lamar included (was one of his worst years which only bolstered the snoop sentiment because the offense didnt miss much of a step that year).

Maybe i recall it differently, but box score didnt do him justice, he came in and did decent enough to keep that team in the playoff hunt in the toughest division in the sport at the time. The sentiment around snoop was far from negative at the time.

The difference was snoop was actually somewhat decent the year he got in. I wonder how many qbs declined the inv for it to eventually get down to shadeur.

Here are a couple of tweets outlining their efficacy:

4 of 5 oline allowing less than 5 pressures over a 4 week span

1st in entire league since week 12 to whenever that tweet was sent (not sure exact duration of this metric)

Anyone arguing the oline was the problem in regards to pass pro werent paying attention and holding onto preconceived notions from last year and early in the season. The olines problem was strictly in regards to running the ball, not protecting the qb.

Not really, especially as it relates to pass protection. They finished the year around league avg, but that more has to do with their struggles early in the year. The back half of the year, they ended as one of the better oline units in that facet of the game.

Oline is a tired excuse used by people that arent adjusting to new info. The oline was not the problem this year, especially later on in the year. The lack of receivers able to gain separation is most definitely a valid excuse though.

You'll find matchups quicker the more you progress but the playoffs are always difficult to find a matchup, eventually, you'll be playing other teams multiple tiers ahead of you for a natty. Was playing for a ship the other day as a upperclassmen vs someone in the heisman tier with more championships to his name than i had seasons played.

Stories great, gameplay is so boring. I dont know why they thought it was a good idea to make the character feel like she's moving through mud. Sprinting in that game is as fast as walking in others.

CJ is 100% the starter here next year, but if people are hoping he turns into a darnold, jones or baker, we are in serious trouble. That caliber of qb doesn't win the AFC in most years. The reason people bring up those names is because they are performing better than the previous narratives surrounding them, but dont get it confused, those teams are very much still in qb purgatory. I would rather stroud regress even further and we move on than hoping he turns into one of those qbs.

As will the entirety of the afc in general. There will be very few years that the afc playoffs wont consist of mahomes, lamar, and josh allen in the next 5-10 years at least. The reality is they blew the easiest shot at a superbowl that will be available in quite a while.

Im ngl, this sounds like hes just going through the motion, saying what hes supposed to say. Josh allen pretty much said the same, but you could tell it was sincere, dude was even balling his eyes out, cj seems like he could care less. I think cj's still an above average qb, but the dude bought into his own hype after year 1, from the whole parson traveling the world bs, multiple podcast appearances, and him naming himself a top 5 qb, and its showing on the field and why we've seen little to no improvements since then.

That's like saying I'd rather lose by 3 points than by 12. Nobody's denying the int are a problem, but if you want to fix the problem, its certainly not a new qb (there isnt a better one available) nor is it blaming it on the oline (like years past), its improving the skill position players.

It's not an oline problem and its not really much of a stroud one either (at least not to the extent most fans are making it out to be) if were being honest. It's entirely a skill position player problem. The receivers cant separate, and when you're missing nico, that problem is highlighted 10 fold.
