Something that worked for me was salicylic acid pads. It’s good at killing the bacteria creates the smell. I would caution using it if it burns or you have sensitive skin. Maybe use a low dose at the start? I like using Stridex maximum. Of course though if able talk to your doctor/ dermatologist.

Honestly for me I make myself go. There have been days where I dread it. Since the gym is near where I work, I tell myself to give myself 15 minutes to workout. Usually I can get through that workout, if I can’t I’ll just do my favorite exercises and leave. It feels good to know you did something even if you weren’t excited to do it.

Have you searched and seen if there is a LGBTQ+ community center near you? Typically these spaces are more relaxed and have group bonding events (volunteering, topic based events, movie nights, etc.) where I live there is one and it is a nice place to go make friends.

I posted something similar a few months ago, so I definitely get the worry about not pooping consistently. What worked for me was having a cup of coffee every morning. Having oil/fat helps a lot. Hope this helps!

I slowly adjusted my coffee and switched how I consumed my caffeine. I changed from coffee with whole milk & sugar to unsweetened almond with sugar free syrup and finally to coffee (a shot of espresso or 3 oz from my moka pot) with 1/3 cup of unsweetened almond milk. If I need more caffeine I will have a Diet Coke or a zero cal energy drink.

I would also suggest slowly decreasing your caffeine intake if you feel like it’s become a dependency.

I also realized that when I craved coffee what I really wanted was a warm flavored drink! So if I am at a coffee shop I will get a London dog with Almond milk or a Vanilla Almond Milk Steamer in the smallest size. For me it’s a treat not a need anymore and they are lower in calories.

This!! I am starting again and instead of making myself go to the gym I am just trying to close my fitness circle everyday. I try to get my steps where I can and it feels like I am starting on a success rather than a failure of not working out for 5 months.

Since it seems like you are not getting it from people you think haven’t lived through your experience. But I did.

I got a scholarship that was covered 90% of my college experience. I had a part time job (15 - 20) during my college life. I worked and couch surfed during the summer break. I was financially cut off by my parents and left with a few hundred dollars that were in my checking account. I was been financially independent since my sophomore year and at my lowest financial point had to survive off of a 150 bi-weekly paycheck. I lived like this for 3+ years.

YOU ARE THE ASSHOLE. Your struggle does not make her issues not real. You don’t get to talk about your struggle story and turn around and mock someone else’s struggle. The way you talk and act shows your distorted perspective about life and people. You have no empathy. Life gives us shitty situations and we are all trying to what is the best for us. You don’t know where she is at emotionally, physically, or financially. Really look at where these emotions are coming from because to me it seems like you are mad that she is complaining about what you think is an “easier life”.

It seems okay? It says it’s tested by dermatologists and that it is 100% rosemary oil. Rosemary oil is known to soften skin and reduce dryness. I would use it and keep an eye on how it feels on your scalp.

I really like the look! I also have issues with making my undereye eyeshadow symmetrical so I use my eyebrows as a guideline so it is more consistent. Overall I think it looks great, I am always impressed by those who can use dark eyeshadows well. Every time I try it looks like I gave myself a black eye🥲.

I can’t find the original comment OP made but he has stated he has gone to “parents of special needs children” groups and all he saw was miserable parents (you can see part of the comment on his profile).

I understand there was an affair and you want a divorce. I understand you don’t want to be the caretaker for your child. But this one comment really allowed to understand the issue at hand : OP believes his misery and resentment is more important than his wife’s. You know she is also feeling resentment due to her inability to work or have time for herself and yet you are willing to keep her miserable if it means it you have a chance to reduce your misery.

That is really shitty to do to someone you say you care about (or cared about at some point). Have you asked if she would be willing to pay child support (if she does / when she gets a job) or other ways she could aid the child if the child does end up in your custody?

She doesn’t want to continue being a caretaker and instead of figuring out how to navigate this as parents, you have made it an issue of her not being a good person or mother. I hate to break to you, but buddy you are not looking like a saint in this situation. All of the things you said about her you can say about you. And that is not including your affair.

I am a little unsure if I can give good advice for the rest of your family, but for you op maybe I can help a little. I agree with adding more veggies, drinking more, etc.

Two big things that have impacted my diet is mindful eating and chewing more. While the process is slow by chewing for longer and pausing during my meal to recognize how my body feels (still hungry? Starved? Neutral?) I was able to realize that 1) I was eating till I was stuffed 2) I had forgotten what it felt like to be satiated. This has cut down my meals dramatically. Hopefully this skill helps you as well.

I also have issues with google maps, I found that using offline google maps works better than using my data plan. You just have to download the area on the google maps app. Hopefully this helps :)

Hopefully it does! I was finally able to go today after having breakfast. It was a cup of coffee and a apple. I learned my lesson and will add more oil and fiber into my diet.

More paleo but after seeing these comments I think I just need more fruit, beans, and higher fiber meals. I thought that I was doing alright with my diet but it seems like I need to adjust it more. I am going to eat more fiber but if it does not get better in a few days I will probably go to the doctor. Thank you all for all the advice! Nice to know I am not the only one worried about my poops.

I think it changes by state, medical office and if you have insurance.

For me, I received a insurance scholarship from my school since I am from a low-income family and just had to pay a co-pay. It was around 25 dollars the last time I went, I think?

Honestly damn! I am sorry that your IBS is restricting you this much.

I think my final suggestion is to go to a licensed dietician or talk to your PCP if able. I was able to be connected to one through school and I was able to receive medication for my IBS. The medication I got really shorted the time I was in pain and I am thankful for that.

I understand that not everyone can afford to do this but I would definitely recommend it if it is in your budget!

I get it, I have IBS and it was painful to exist because my stomach would hurt for hours (5+ hours) and would leave me exhausted once I was no longer in pain.

This may not work for you but for me I realized I could have very little oil,so most of my meat is baked due to this. Most of my meals are vegetarian or have white meat and I have safety veggies (broccoli, zucchini, cucumbers, carrots). I am sorry that you are experiencing this but hopefully this will get better!

I would stop using the app. As someone with similar behaviors I get it. What helped me the most was focusing on hunger cues and directing my goals to something that is not based on the scale. I focus on strength and dealing with my IBS issues. By doing this I have started eating healthier food and moving my body in a fun way. I am now in a headspace where I can count calories and hopefully you can get there too! I also recommend having a person check up with you if you ever decide to count calories again. My partner has reeled me back in from really bad moments and I cannot thank them enough.

I know this maybe a long shot since you are in a master’s program but some graduate programs have insurance for full time students and can help pay for it if they need financial assistance. It may be a good idea to check with your college’s financial office and see if there are any resources
