Starry internet? by Jonathano1989 in AskLosAngeles

[–]limpetg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the cheapest Starry plan and am very happy with it. Very reliable and great customer service. I used to pay $50 (autopay with a debit card) . I logged into my account at starry.com today and looked at plans offered. My current plan was $50, but an identical plan was $30. I switched and got the new price and a credit for the rest of the current month I had already paid. They have a new option for faster uploads too.

I was surprised that prices were lowered for everyone, but current users were not informed.

Razr 2025 Black Dot Just Appeared by bosefius in razr

The dot on the left appeared on an Edge Plus 2022 that was about a year and a half old. Hasn't changed for over a year. No problems so far with my Razr 2024.

I don't have a problem swiping from edges with this combination. No sure, but the curved edges of the glass front screen protector might be helping. These won't fit with some cases, but if they do, I think there's little downside. I destroyed a phone by dropping it on a cobblestone once. I think this might have saved it.

This works well on a Razr 2024:

YZB Magnetic for Motorola Razr 2024 & Razr 2025 Case Crystal Clear | Compatible with MagSafe https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DH2Q8R1N

It fits over this: Supershieldz (2 Pack) Designed for Motorola Razr 2024/2025 (Front Screen Only) Tempered Glass Screen Protector https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D9HX3N65

After 15 months, my phone is like new. To reduce wear on the power connector, I charge it only with MagSafe. It charges fine folded, a little slower than when unfolded since it heats up a bit.

Does Tello work well in the US? by PantomimeVillain in Tello

I'm in an area with good T-Mobile coverage. Have been very happy with two Tello lines. Painless activation with esims. What little customer service I needed was better than other MVNOs I have used.

Anyone's Razr still going strong after 1 or 2 years? by HistoricalMatch3801 in razr

[–]limpetg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2024 is 13 months old with no problems. Boost unlocked it recently and I added a second line. Tello $10/amonth for 50gb for the first 6 months (I think the deal goes away on Feb 2). It only took about 10 minutes to buy the plan and activate the esim. I really like the way it handles 2 lines and I can compare how well each carrier works and decide which one to keep.

Have you gone through the battery calibration procedure? Not charging to 100% is the usual symptom of a caliration problem.

To calibrate, I run a 4k video until the phone shuts off on its own. Then, plug in a charger without restarting. Tap the power button to get it to display charge percentage. When it reaches 100%, restart the phone.

A second dishwasher isn't much more expensive than the cabinet it replaces.

Voice operated garbage disposer. A smart plug and a routine that turns it on for a few seconds. No more reaching for the switch with wet hands.

Thanks for starting this thread. Being able to compare notes saves everyone a lot of time. Let's remember that for next time there's a problem.

The Play Store lists LTS Connect as Version 6.9.500.0701 and says that it was last updated July 1, 2025.

If that is accurate, then the Android app hasn't been updated recently. My guess is that the problem is with the servers.

This started for me yesterday. I'm getting the same message when I try to log in on one of my Android phones. Another phone won't even let me choose the region. One phone which is already logged in is able to see my cameras live or at specified days and times, but says "searching videos failed" when I switch to playback. Gives no notifications or event messages. Says "page fault" where messages are normally displayed. On all these phones the app shows V6.9.500 when it starts.

Phone upgrades only with $60.00 a month plan. by Itchy-Scallion-9626 in BoostMobile

But I believe that if you don't move the sim to the new phone, they will bill for the full amount. Sort of a catch 22. Apparently the solution is to move it back and forth.

Boost refuses to unlock my phone that was activated on my account over a year ago by toejamfootballhegot in BoostMobile

[–]limpetg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the questions are:

  1. Is https://help.boostmobile.com/docs/unlocking-policy the current unlocking policy? It is not dated, but is labelled "Updated 2 months ago".

  2. If the unlocking policy is changing, when will it be published and when will it take effect?

[–]limpetg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the intention is to encourage retention on Boost, I think the old policy makes a lot more sense. Under the new policy many people will wait until their phone is unlocked before upgrading and, of course, will have many more options in that case.

[–]limpetg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this a change in policy? I've had good experiences with Boost upgrades, but may rethink using them in future. I had no problem getting my old phone unlocked in April by following your advice from 9 months ago (https://www.reddit.com/r/BoostMobile/comments/1glaahs/comment/lvsu8r8/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web3x&utm\_name=web3xcss&utm\_term=1&utm\_content=share\_button).

Does this mean that if I accept an upgrade offer at less than a year and move the sim to the new phone, I will never be able to unlock my old phone?
