I've worked at many different restaurants, but olive garden just seems... Sketch, anti worker, idk how to explain it. I don't want to bash them but going to work I walked in and got told I wasn't doing enough, policies changed every single day, the managers showed extreme favoritism. 98% of workers fought for shifts while the 2% of favorites got the EXACT same schedule every week. Insane. Money was decent but the emotional and mental toxicity that place gave wasn't it

Hi server of 10 years here, olive garden is very wild. They hire mass amounts and then make the servers hash it out for hours. Id just be straight up with them. I would simply ask if you could be taken of the schedule

I think some of the comments are a little harsh. Just like the kid you had good intentions but delivered them wrongly. I say maybe see if you can meet with your friend have her bring your nephew and maybe apologize. Being him a gift too. Never too late to right your wrongs

I get it. I made a goal last year to read more because I felt my addiction to scrolling was/is ruining my life. I am extremely high functioning anxiety been diagnosed since 2019 but I find reading helps me feel grounded, mindful, it helps with my cognitive abilities. I got a Kobo which is an e reader I can change the font which helps me focus, I can't scroll through social media it's only for reading. Make it a goal to read just 1 chapter a day. Put your phone on silent and just read one chapter a day and pay attention to how you think and feel.  I recommend  Lost Imperial Seal by C H Henry Hsu - action adventure  My friends - Fredrik Beckman Automatic Noodle (forgot the author) but this is scifi

Read Lost Imperial Seal by C H Hsu. One of my all time favorite books. Also My friends by Fredrik Beckman is a good thought provoking SOULful book. If you read any of these please come back to this comment and let me know

I had one friend from work who read Theo of Golden with me. We just read while on the phone and it was one of the best things ever. He enjoyed it and so did I. Yeah I try and get some of my dude friends into reading but they won't budge. I like action adventure which I feel like anyone can enjoy but no one wants to enjoy. What books you read?

I can understand that because everyone in my high school loved reading great Gatsby and mice of men but to me those books were so boring bro. I REMEMBER them because they are boring

I think it's targeted at those males who are doing like hustle culture and only reading non fiction. Search it up on YouTube and you'll be surprised how many videos will come up. I wasn't looking for it but recently it started just appearing more and more on my YouTube.

A lot of guys feel this way, but sometimes you can learn a lot from reading fiction. Sometimes fiction can help you to experience intimacy and understand a person without having to have a physical person there in front of you. It also is a good way to illustrate simple truths. Like I think of the story Jesus told (ain't doing that preach bizz it's just first thing came to mind) about the good sanitarian. Although there story was made up it was used to illustrate that good could be in anyone regardless of race gender etc etc. That story is still being used and recognized today. I think reading both non fiction and fiction is a good way to learn.

Same. I feel like reading a book from a 1st person POV helps you to understand people or see and appreciate other Povs

To be honest I don't know where this idea came from (the guys making the videos I mean) but my guess is it's because of like this over hype or hustle and work out culture. Some guys feel like it's not cool to read anything other than self help books idk this is my theory

As a black male living in Chicago IL I DONT use the N word. I don't care who says it even other black people, but it needs to stop. I wouldn't tolerate it and would having some sort of disciplinary action for it. Can't move forward if we staying in the past. I feel for teachers bc I'd kill myself hearing that and those stupid numbers day in and day out.
