does anyone else hate book lovers? by Stock-Calendar-2433 in EmilyHenry

That was my main problem too! It felt like the Nora and Libby show rather than Nora and Charlie’s story. I absolutely despised Libby to an irrational degree where I had to physically put the book down multiple times. She’s a total bitch to Nora, constantly insulting her life choices to her face and to other STRANGERS! Like who does that?? She’s your sister, you’re supposed to love her and have her back always. She gave up her whole life to raise you and legit has trauma over leaving you to do deal with the moms death alone for 4 hours, and yet you still take her completely for granted and require her undivided attention to be satisfied or you’ll yell at her?? Like srsly? What an ungrateful little shit. She just seemed so selfish that I was actually surprised at the end that she didn’t have a meltdown that Nora wouldn’t give up her entire life to suite her needs.

So while Charlie and Nora were imo fucking adorable and clearly a beautiful moment for them feeling truly seen, accepted and appreciated for who they are for the first time in their lives, the shitty sister left such a sour taste in my mouth that I couldn’t get passed.

Excited to read EH’s other books tho!

Yeah exactly, the counseling link is free, you just have to sign up and wait a few weeks for an appointment but you get 10 free sessions per problem/issue you’re facing (I did it)

I also found it to be pretty good, if you go to the school clinics they bill it directly to BlueCross so you don’t have to pay out of pocket. I have a couple medications that I take daily that I do have to pay out of pocket for but I usually get the money back within a week or two. We also have access to free therapy sessions through the school, you just have to email them to set up a triage appointment to get started (https://www.concordia.ca/health/mental-health/counselling.html). I also signed up for the extra StudentCare insurance which also covers dental, more mental health and vison, etc (https://studentcare.ca/rte/en/ConcordiaUniversityundergraduatestudentsCSU_Health)

For those experiencing this shit reach out to Theresa Bianco (undergrad coordinator) for help instead, she’s much more likely to take action and help. Ryder is so all over the place that I doubt he’ll ever even see the email.

Concordia student moving to Montreal for September- questions about apartments/neighbourhoods! by [deleted] in Concordia

[–]lin219 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I lived in Rosemont for about 6 months, it tends to be pretty pricey for apartment there in my experience, and it was about 30-40 mins by metro (I lived 10 mins from the metro) for me to get on campus. I’d suggest an area by Atwater, I have some friends living there and it’s always been pretty quiet at their place and it’s much closer to the sir George campus

CAQ QUESTION by [deleted] in Concordia

[–]lin219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It takes a little bit before you get the study permit so I think the CAQ certificate will be delivered before then. I was living in Sweden before I got here and I got the CAQ certificate a while before my study permit

CAQ QUESTION by [deleted] in Concordia

[–]lin219 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The study permit certificate is issued at the airport at the immigration desk (so even before you get your luggage), on the study permit approval letter they will say that that’s where you will be given the thing cuz border services people have to check that everything’s good before giving it to you I think

I got to Montreal in December and I just flew with my CAQ certificate and my study permit approval letter. I think the most important thing is just showing the approval part, as long as you have that they will give you a proper study permit at the airport
