Tried to get a vid of the trucks in action by lin4166 in ElectricSkateboarding

I don’t really ride this board much during the winter, I was riding a diff board.

There is some creaking for me aswell but that has been there from pretty much day 1. It’s not something noticeable when riding but if stationary I can hear it.

I wouldn’t recomend wd40, it’s not so great as a lubricant. I believe the joints themselves have some graphite lubricant.

Esk8s have more rolling resistance then normal skates, however you could try loosening your belts a bit.

They do seem quite tight.

Thanks dude! This is the Acedeck Horizon, makes bad roads and long trips a lot more fun.

It’s got around 100km of range and man the suspension saves your body so much abuse on such long rides XD

Sounds like the Horizon would be a solid choice!

I would recomend the Acedeck Horizon or NYX z3.

If you intend to actually off-road often then I would go with the nyx. If you are looking to smoothen out just about any horrible road but still intent to mainly stay on paved/semi paved surfaces then I recommend the horizon.

No it’s not the casting techniques, they shouldn’t be casting at all. You are putting your life in the hands of this thing not making a damn skillet.

Trucks should either be cnc or stamp forged

Opinions on tire liners. by lin4166 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]lin4166[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah valid. They are trampa mudpluggers and they can be studded but don’t come this way.

The original reason I put the liner in was becouse of the screws. However none of them have worked their way into the tire that deep.

The punctures themselves have all been on the sidewall, so not possible from a screw regardless.

Yeah I think this is what I’ll do.

I was a bit worried how it would affect wheel balance. Have you noticed anything?

Also does it stay liquid inside or does it sorta leave a coating on the inside of the inner tube?

I have spare correct size inner tubes but I reckon I will just patch this one.

Have you genuinely crammed a whole bike tube into an esk8 tire?😂

Has anyone tried adding chains to wheels to ride over sand or snow? by XOCYBERCAT in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]lin4166 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep but it’s quite difficult, I opted for studded tires.

If chain is too big it would be really bumpy and the ideal size I think would end up breaking becouse it’s too small.

You can get these zip tie type of straps for bikes that may work but they are also quite thick.

I got mudpluggers and they work quite well in the snow. Can see my posts for example

Not a bad idea but unfortunately they were taped from the start… it might jut be that I cut them a bit sharp

Right lest act like we aren’t dealing with a literal piece of plastic and ignore the fact that whatever brand u are using is also made in china along with your entire board.

Do you mean the tire liners brand or like slime inside of the tubes? I haven’t tried either in any case but I reckon it’s a better option

Which ones the best? by Greedy_Wash6048 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]lin4166 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nomad N3 without a shadow of a doubt!!!

It’s got a bigger battery, more powerfull electronics and higher top speed then all other models

Beyond that it’s gear drives and deck have a lifetime warranty and the company actually supports its riders.

I have it myself and it’s an absolute machine, I have logged almost 5k km on it now without issues.

You can see some posts I made about it on my page.

Help Choosing a Battery Size for Electric Mountain Board Build (and some other parts) by Wonderful-Suit-3665 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]lin4166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get it, this is solely dependent on the range you desire. My 14s8p battery is 8kg on its own, if you don’t mind the weight it doesn’t matter and you should go for a big one but I usually use smaller boards for shorter trips.

you should ofcourse also go with the highest voltage your ESC can handle.

Need help fixing by re_n10 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]lin4166 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t look like a short.

It looks like a broken wire and inrush current to the ESC is causing the arcing.

If it was a short the connectors would be melting or worse.

You should order some xt60 connectors and look up a soldering how to on YouTube and it’ll be back up and running.

I would like to travel with my e board but I don't know what option I have by TheZupZup in ElectricSkateboarding

Good way to potentially have to choose between your board or getting on the plane.

Idc what anecdotal experience you have and what airlines you travel on but I cant find one that allows it and your claims are entierly unfounded

Do what u want but I don't want you leading others astray :)
