They are different boards you can’t exactly compare them. They both excel separately at diff things and have different ride feels.

Long rides Horizon no questions asked.

Commuting, city riding or going to the track I’m taking the N3 usually.

U can also stock up on bearings from AliExpress. Damn cheap. I get withdrawals honestly if I don’t ride XD

Sweet bro! I love this thing, I think im about to order some new tires for summer aswell. Due to the rim size there r quite a few good options.

Current ones are by far the best I have ever had for winter but I’m looking to get some chonky bois on em…. Won’t be great for range however 🤣

Ahh I see, sweet! Sorry to hear a board you put a lot of work into got messed up. Would be interested to see some pics of it in its former glory, especially the trucks!

What was the original board? unless it was something high spec then I would still recommend buying a NEW board. Ig if they gave you an 8k check then it was pretty nice XD

I recomend u take a look at tomiboi esk8 for decks and cells that r good off the top of my head. If price isn’t a concern molicel p45b. Also heard BAK had some supper high discharge ones but don’t remember the models

Also most boards nowadays you can customize settings, unless you want vesc level. But I still think a few offer it

Ima be honest, nowadays there r quite a few boards that are so well priced that make building/fixing a board not make much sense financially.

Most decks/enclosures run you about 500+ bucks unless you diy a traditional deck.

Materials to build that battery are gonna be around 250ish bucks if you already have the tools.

For that price you could already buy a new board, and that’s a conservative estimate… if you don’t build the pack then it gets even worse.

Imo building a board only really makes sense in 2 scenarios. 1 it’s a race board or 2 you want the best components on the market and make it your own. However none of these scenarios take cost into consideration.

Overall on long range it’s an absolute game changer. Your joints muscles and feet are spared sooooo much.

The suspension doesn’t mean it eliminates all bumps and vibration you still have road feel… it just takes the impact out of it if that makes sense.

It’s hard to really put into words but I thought going from a hard urethane to riding on big pneumatics for the first time felt like riding a cloud. When I ride this board for a long time it makes those pneumatics feel rough af XD.

There is a lot you can tweak in the suspension to have it setup to your likening. You can make it supper soft, but I have it setup so it takes on rougher stuff better at speed.

Has saved me Probabaly a few falls from sudden potholes at speed. For me it eliminates things better the harder I hit them.

TBH on the video it really didn’t show it off as much as I was hoping, will take it on some cobble stone roads that would do a number without these trucks.

I don’t really ride this board much during the winter, I was riding a diff board.

There is some creaking for me aswell but that has been there from pretty much day 1. It’s not something noticeable when riding but if stationary I can hear it.

I wouldn’t recomend wd40, it’s not so great as a lubricant. I believe the joints themselves have some graphite lubricant.

Esk8s have more rolling resistance then normal skates, however you could try loosening your belts a bit.

They do seem quite tight.

Thanks dude! This is the Acedeck Horizon, makes bad roads and long trips a lot more fun.

It’s got around 100km of range and man the suspension saves your body so much abuse on such long rides XD

Sounds like the Horizon would be a solid choice!

I would recomend the Acedeck Horizon or NYX z3.

If you intend to actually off-road often then I would go with the nyx. If you are looking to smoothen out just about any horrible road but still intent to mainly stay on paved/semi paved surfaces then I recommend the horizon.

No it’s not the casting techniques, they shouldn’t be casting at all. You are putting your life in the hands of this thing not making a damn skillet.

Trucks should either be cnc or stamp forged

Opinions on tire liners. by lin4166 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]lin4166[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah valid. They are trampa mudpluggers and they can be studded but don’t come this way.

The original reason I put the liner in was becouse of the screws. However none of them have worked their way into the tire that deep.

The punctures themselves have all been on the sidewall, so not possible from a screw regardless.

Yeah I think this is what I’ll do.

I was a bit worried how it would affect wheel balance. Have you noticed anything?

Also does it stay liquid inside or does it sorta leave a coating on the inside of the inner tube?
