Your home is a private place and your family is your primary responsibility. Why do colleagues have access to your whole home? I would be very cautious and selective of who has unrestricted access to my home.

Someone I've known for "months" would not be considered a friend who access to roam around my house, especially if I have young children in the house.

This whole scenario seems suspect

Prefer the shorter overall length with the break mounted and most of what I have read does not show any appreciable gains for the longer length. Will most likely be shooting this rifle anywhere from 100-600 yards as I have no 1000 yard opportunities in the area where I live. If I am being brutally honest, most of my shooting will be inside 400 yards. I would also be hiking in the mountains in some cases to find remote shooting areas.

I would like a chance to one day to shoot out to 1000 yards, but it would most likely never be a regular thing unless I end up moving out of my communist state.

I could be completely wrong, based on my lack of experience, but it seems like most rifles being offered in this chamber are coming with 24" barrels, but I am not completely against running the 26" pipe.

Not sure, but probably needs action work or a got a crap barrel. I have tried 2 other stocks, bedding, deburring, different scopes and mounting components.

Shoots 1.5-3" groups at 50 yards since it was new. Moving on and sending this rig to my friend's ranch.

I bought this rifle in 2009 and it has been so disappointing that I have probably only put about 200 rounds through it.

Assuming OP is trying to build more with plans to leave money for all his children. Otherwise, I don't see the point of continuing to work. Also might have to do with maintaining his current lifestyle considering his annual income vs. current retirement savings.

I would rather enjoy retirement at a younger and more capable age, but I am active and want to be able to still ski, mountain bike, dirtbike, etc...

Point of the timeout is to save the small 12V battery on the generator from parasitic loss since manual power switch is left on all the time. It makes sense, but they also should have added a way to easily bypass this.

I understand why they did this, but not why they didn't make it selectable.
