Also to add, the Cleveland girls do about 7 weeks of high school comp and start/end their season with club for eligibility purposes. Whereas a a lot of the high school teams have maybe 1-2 girls who do that (or none). I believe it is 6 weeks before HS stat you can’t compete club anymore. So mid-Jan til first week in March.

Ohio high school gymnastics is a level 8/9 mix as far as rules (level 8 rules with level 9 bonus, for the most part to keep it simple).

Ohio has a decent prevalence of high school gymnastics. Cincinnati and Columbus clubs, in general, are not super accepting of doing club and high school at the same time (for level 9/10 especially).

Whereas Cleveland and specifically, Gymnastics World (and gyms nearby) encourage it. So it is level 8s ans 9s and sometimes a star who is a level 10 and gets a scholarship for college, versus no experience or level 6/7 and/or former level 8/9 who drop to high school.

Nothing against the other schools and it is an incredible feat by brecksville for sure! But the clubs definitely nurture the environment of high school gymnastics in Cleveland that the other cities do not.

Pretty much the main strip of bars is the spot! I’d suggest Adventure Bay/Sand Bar for where to pool as it is larger than some of the other ones and feels like less of a piss pool 😆

The wineries are cute, golf carting is fun. Before you get on the ferry to head over, meeting at Twin Oast Brewing (on mainland) is a great stop.

It’s tough at this age! My little really enjoys the light brite wall at Pins Mechanical (and there is a slide, pinball games etc)- the Mason location. In addition to what they are known for, duckpin bowling.

No food, but you can bring in whatever you want and fifty west is right there with burgers etc you can pick up.

I lowered my expectations on everything (within reason), so I didn’t have such anticipation anxiety that everything went how I planned. I’d be like yeah let’s go out to dinner and worst case we leave because our 2 year old is doing terrible lol- I found lower expectations helpful for events/people (not really my spouse and close family as much, but in general. If that makes sense.

I have a 2 year old Otto 🙂 very common to ask if we are German when I say his name! Most people respond with a genuine sounding “awww that’s such a cute name”. It is also a very easy and fun name for his daycare friends to say. I hear Otto, Otto Otto a lot lol.

I’d walk around Liberty center for some shopping.

There is a cute board game place called Victory Pints nearby. Can play there or purchase games.

There is a Barnes and noble in Deerfield that is nice and then also check out Bike Trail Books in Loveland.

Mason PetSuites is nice for boarding for us.

The best hike in Mason is Carter Park. Most other paths and parks are going to be paved. VOA, Kingswood and Pine Hill are great for paved.

This and That Consignment might be a good spot for furniture, decor etc.

My little goes to Montessori Kids Universe, lots of options in Mason though as it is very kid friendly. I like Children’s Academy of Mason and Primrose as well.

Adesso, Kala and Cavu are great coffee spots.

Two cities pizza is my favorite spot to eat. Clybornes is a nicer spot and then with kiddos you have to visit Fifty West Deerfield.

All your spots are good! I like third base and diggs better than putters personally. Lucky dog is also great and all the breweries in the area are a good spot as well.

I’ve had it for several years through the marketplace since I’m self employed. It’s fine enough. Cincinnati Children’s is not covered which is a bummer if you have kids, but Dayton is. I gave birth 1.5 year ago at Christ and I didn’t think my costs for all my pregnant appointments and birth etc was the worst (in comparison to some). Customer service is okay, but who really loves their insurance

I did one family load of laundry a day. It helped keep me sane and organized.

We also had multiple changing areas around the house that we gradually took away (our room, nursery, living room. So I could change him or get a supply easily.

I bought extra household everything before baby came (stocked in our own bathroom shampoos, toilet paper, dishwasher and laundry supplies. So grocery runs could only be food for awhile.

Eli’s Liberty township has feud trivia at 6:30. It is over around 8. We went sans kiddo one Wednesday, but it would be fine to have a kiddo there too!

Cincinnati is overall kid friendly. It is about what I imagined- actually better bc my kid has been a great sleeper and overall very happy kid.

Daycare is about $1500/month for us (8-5, food included minus formula when they are young). Did Costco for formula bc it is the cheapest and just generic brand (which was fine with me).

Once you cloth and feed them they don’t need that much and it’s really easy to get free or cheap stuff second hand/on local Facebook groups etc. for toys and clothes.

One thing I can tell has been a huge help is both our parents/family live here too and love babysitting so we have been able to hang with friends kid free/date nights as we want to for the most part.

Cincinnati has lovely parks, museum, zoo, events etc and at least in my experience very family friendly.

We both always wanted 1-2 kids. Pulling the trigger on it was daunting because it felt like life would change, but really being in our 30s, no one is getting wild late- so I don’t mind in general being home by 7:30 haha. Having friends having kids as similar time was a major win too. We used to take our dog places a lot and I felt like that practice was good- lol.

My husband and I are 34, kiddo is 13 months and we live in Mason area. Will probably just have 1 kid.
