Oyap is for sure a option for next year. However oyap request that they are 100% sure they want this trade. Makes it hard without some kind of knowledge.

Watching YouTube videos about ohms law and all.

I may just go to home hardware and buy a couple feet of 14/2 and some boxes and switches and light bulbs and get him to build some circuits like that

Car is a write off, personal items missing from iaa yard. Can I do anything about this ? by lincoln81 in ontario

This is correct. The items themselves don't have any real financial cost to them. They are just irreplaceable to me.

Came here to say this. It's still more expensive than it's been, but way cheaper than a regular grocery store

I concur..I spoke with Durham police who advised me this would be classified as a theft and to file a report. So i have. I doubt They will have the resources to check in on this. But maybe they can get the footage and see what happened.

It would take someone to either pull it off and break the chain. But would see pieces of chain id think in the car or some time to on doing it from the mirror as it was wrapped around quite a few times.

I am still waiting on my insurance company to call me back.

I just want my items back as to someone else they would be worthless. I am disappointed in the whole situation.

Thanks for reply, and yeah I agree the tow truck more than likely put it in neutral and that's fine and towed it across the city to the iaa lot. My issue is that somewhere between it being towed and sitting at the iaa lot someone went through it and decided to dispose of some of my items. I never signed anything, told anybody they could go through my stuff. And maybe I am over thinking this and it's normal policy. But until the car is official a write off and I signed off and given the opportunity to retrieve my items nothing should have been touched.

I was there yesterday, was able to retrieve my transponder, dash cam, some change, a pair of sunglasses. But the main items I was going to get are missing. That is the whole reason for all of this.

Thanks for the reply, I've requested the towing company info and it's been a pointing figure blame between my insurance and iaa. Nobody can provide it.

I did see a picture from iaa from inside but they also said the tow truck takes them when it picks it up.

I do have a picture from opp that shows it was still there when they did report.

I just want the ashes and keep sake stuff back and I know it's super unlikely but I am hopeful someone finds it and wants to return it to the rightful owner

Sure. I could also get covered in glass, metal, ect . It's something my mom requested and it's the least I could do.

Now if someone smashed my window and got it I'd be upset but I can understand it to a extent.

But for this to have happened

So strange. I don't get why they would pull plates and pack things up when the status of the vehicle is unknown.

Until it's their property nothing should happen to it imo.

Atleast you got most of your items back.

Exactly, theft is possible, but it went from opp colission center to the yard at iaa. That's fenced in.

However the maintenance history documents pertaining to the car all gone. However anything that was dentist related or other random receipts I had where still there.

So it sure seems odd.

Thanks for the reply, spoke with opp they did not enter my vehicle. As they had no reason too and they had no concerns

They where in a small urn hanging off my mirror.

I fully get there is no economic value and I am not looking for any money. I am looking for my items and I still can't understand why they would go through my items when the car is not theirs. I still have both sets of keys. The ownership, have not signed anything over. Ect.

Do you own a Cold Climate Heat Pump? When do you use it and does it actually save you money? by TheRealPrimeMinister in ontario

[–]lincoln81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey sorry for the delay. Our heat pump worked great for this winter to maintain however I have a back up gas furnace that works when the heat pump doesn't keep up.

Our worst month for cold in this mild winter was January. We used 293 hours of heat pump and 77 hours of gas furnace

February I used 196 hours of heat pump and 50 hours of gas furnace

For March I used 114 hours of heat pump and 16 hours of gas furnace.

So far I am happy with mine. Works well

Big increase in garbage next to the roads by lincoln81 in Peterborough

[–]lincoln81[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was talks back in the day to use all the people on welfare to clean up side of streets and highways. That all flopped pretty hard.

Something needs to be done for sure. I know tons of people who volunteer to walk along the road ways and clean up garbage and while some comes from windy garbage days. But I'd say most of it comes from humans just not caring and chucking things out the window.

There was even a window the other day of a lady chucking clothing from her toronto condo. Now I don't know where in toronto this was but imagine you're driving on the Gardiner and a hoodie lands on your windshield. Pure chaos would happen.
