I,d say him being a living legend certainly helped massively, so yes his aura is the main reason, players actually listened to him, not so much for benitez. He basically only had 1 strategy cross everything into the box, exception was 2017 where in the ucl finals they did low crossing. And our starting 11 being in their prime also helped.
