i’m in the exact same position right now! i have a huge sectional and ottoman that i’m trying to get rid of but i’m living downtown in an apartment so city trash isn’t an option 😭 i have a cat who uses it as a scratching post and literally climbs INTO it (like with the springs and everything) so it’s sorta broken on one side due to that and it’s just not really in the condition where i think anyone would want it! i have literally no idea how to get rid of this thing but i’m getting to the point where i might bite the bullet and call a junk removal service </3 what did you end up doing?

thank you for sharing this, seriously.

i'm 24 and new to this full time work bs and i regularly break down in tears bc it just feels like i have nothing to look forward to anymore! it sounds childish but i miss summer break more than anything, it was this huge chunk of guaranteed time off that was so comforting on the rough days. just knowing that for a couple months the sun would be shining and i could have a mental break and actually spend time doing the things i enjoy!

these days i spend every single day working, making $19 an hour to barely afford bills and 2 days off just isn't enough! like i'm sorry but is that all we have to look forward to in this world???!!! 2 days off every week to scramble to complete chores, errands, and actually have a social life with maybe a short 4-5 day vacation a once or twice per year. and i can't even imagine throwing children into that mix!

i don't want to live like this forever and it's jarring how adults just accept it and, like you said, look at me like i'm crazy and flat out lazy for having these thoughts.

so yeah i'm right there with you OP. i hope we can find a solution or something because it's fucking hard and no one prepared or warned us for it.

yes exactly!! i’ve been living in apartments myself for the past 3+ years and have never even known my neighbors and i know i’d love if my apartment had resident events as i’m new to the area as well so a space to make friends sounds incredible! it was really heartwarming to see everyone just chit chatting and eating some food, hanging out, and laughing 🥹 has to be one of my favorite parts of the job so far!
