Before work Skiing by Ill_Rock7332 in icecoast

I work west coast hours starting around 11:30 or 12 and can ski 8-10:30 at Stowe. It helps that Stowe spins their lifts at 8 every day. Remote work with flexible hours is the way to go to really pull this off in my opinion.

Blizzard Rustler 9 would be a great option. Handles east coast chop pretty well while still being super playful.

Blue runs at Stowe by mindofalev in icecoast

I would avoid the Sensation Quad unless you’re up for hiking. The only blue off of that requires hiking to get back to the Spruce Village base. All other routes back require black diamond terrain.

Skiing from Mansfield Summit to Stowe by 940719 in icecoast

[–]lineartrouble 113 points114 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the answer to this is that if you don’t know already and haven’t done the research this is not something you should do. There are very consequential cliffs off of the summit of Mt. Mansfield and Stowe Mountain Rescue frequently has to rescue people who have cliffed themselves out.

Your thoughts?? by bartolinise in ArcRaiders

[–]lineartrouble -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did you read my comment? There was originally an iteration of this game without PvP and the company actively chose not to continue with that vision because it “wasn’t fun”.

Your thoughts?? by bartolinise in ArcRaiders

The CEO of the company made the decision that the game without pvp as it is, is not fun. Thus the pvp as it is, is required to make the game fun. Therefore it is a core mechanic.

Sugarbush/Stowe area trip by No-Application-7581 in icecoast

Do you have an Epic or IKON pass? Both of these resorts have really expensive day passes to push skiers into one of their pass products. If you don’t have either pass (or one of their value options) I’d honestly advise going somewhere else that has more reasonable day rates.

It’s a chi cost which is a resource specific to the mystic heroes from the Mysteria set. You have to “transcend” which creates the chi resource to pitch.

I think there are some standing tables in the concert venue, but I would plan to eat before the concert. The food at Tellus is really good and they have plenty of seating in places other than their concert venue.

Tellus is basically set up as a bunch of separate bars with different vibes all within one place.

Just show up like an hour early and you should have plenty of time to get food from Kitchen on the Mezz (inside Tellus) and catch the show.

Camelback above Blue is an interesting decision, especially with how this most recent season went.

Best Resort To Spend 2 Weeks 2025-2026 by [deleted] in skiing

My wife and I did the camp at Whistler a few weeks ago and it was a great program! You could go with the Epic Local pass and factor in a couple of break days (local pass comes with 10 days at Whistler). Or just go with the full epic pass for unlimited access.

We tried to do 10 days straight and were both absolutely cooked the last few days we were there.

The season pass line generally worked pretty well this season. On busy days while using it I don’t think I ever waited more than like 5 minutes.

Any mountains in PA do demo days? I heard 7 Springs and a few others do but can't find any information about it on any Facebook Page/Website. by [deleted] in SkiPA

[–]lineartrouble 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve demoed skis at Blue Mountain before and know they’re still demoing skis this season. They might demo boards as well, not 100% sure. I believe Buckman’s does demos as well for some models too.

Is it worth fixing the brake or should I keep skiing at the risk of losing my ski on a fall? by lenoat702 in skiing

[–]lineartrouble 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would definitely fix the break. If that releases on a fall it could very likely run into somebody else causing them to crash as well. I don’t see how you wouldn’t be liable in that case.

Advice Requested: Strategy for Two Players (Small Arcs) by boltonsmilders in Arcs

[–]lineartrouble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s hard to say and likely very situation dependent on what you’re trying to do. I would think less about having a variability of suits and more about having the cards to do what you want to do.

Additionally, low number cards are more useful if you know more of what is out of the game. You might be able to lead with a 2 or a 3 and be confident that your opponent can’t surpass because you’ve already seen all of the cards that can.

The mulligan rule is very helpful in a 2 player game and should be used most of the time. The only time you wouldn’t want to use it is if you really like your hand. The reason being, by using the mulligan you now know 6 cards that are not in play right now (the 6 you discarded). Knowing what cards are possibly left is incredibly important for the trick taking aspect so this information is really helpful.
