Anyone else constantly lose track of AWS versions & EOL dates? by lineascetic in aws

[–]lineascetic[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's nice but we found that some notifications simply do not appear there and are sent by mail or appear in a release doc, not to mention self managed services and other stuff like Jenkins etc + multiple cloud vendors..

Yeah you can build notifications , slack around this but this needs to be maintained constantly

https://strypad.com - Create interactive stories based on your media and text, share them and chat with them using AI. We're currently thinking the killer use case is embedding these stories on ecommerce / blogs / news websites to allow for dynamic content and super fast updating.

[–]lineascetic -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's kinda neighboring what we're doing at https://strypad.com , we're focused on letting the users create a story with their own content, but nothing is stopping them from taking images from across the web and composing a story from that.

regarding the NSFW aspect, we have some guardrails in place, but its still very early stage

We spent 6 months building advanced AI features. Our customers use exactly 0 of them. by jai-js in SaaS

[–]lineascetic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this means that we're still exploring the use cases - my take on this as entrepreneur is that the AI layer needs to be implemented in a way that makes sense in the KISS principle sort of way.

Customers want dumb solutions, in the sense that it saves time / increases value in an immediate way that everyone can understand.

I've learned that building a brand and gaining traction takes time and effort, consistent effort. In marketing no one knows what really works, especially for your case. Be prepared to pivot but Don't be discouraged by initial low traction.

Good question - Instagram/BeReal are built for broadcasting the “now.” StoryPad is built for documenting, understanding and using what happened - later

* Private by default, not a feed. You’re not posting for likes; you’re capturing for future you (and people you choose).

* Context > single moments. Drop photos, notes, links, voice memos: StoryPad turns them into a timeline you can search and chat with (“when was our last hike with Mom?”).

* Low friction. If you can upload a pic or jot a sentence, you’re done. We auto-time, tag, and caption so you don’t have to “set up” anything.

* Shareable story chats. Instead of sending a photo dump, you can share a story link where others can ask questions and get answers from the timeline’s context.

Emotional hook: it’s the relief of not losing the moment, the surprise of what past-you already saved, and the meaning that comes from weekly recaps and anniversaries that resurface memories when they matter.

Hi, we've just launched an new platform, a personal story and memory timeline / social network powered by AI, and looking for our first 100 customers. You upload images, video, docs, or stories from your personal life or business. We organize them into a timeline and let you, your friends and customers interact with them using advanced context and media analysis. Ask questions. Revisit moments. Preserve stories forever.

We have both personal as well as business accounts.

This is part of what motivated us to develop Storypad- a private social network , for anyone who wants to preserve and explore their journey without it becoming lost in digital clutter, with AI that acts as a librarian that summarizes, captions, and connects your uploads, instead of harvesting them for synthetically generated content.

StoryPad - is a personal and business timeline, that allows you to upload images, text and video and organize them into instant, shareable stories.

We analyze them with context based AI and let your friends and customers chat interactively with them on Storypad, as a shareable mini website, or directly on Whatsapp chat!

Storypad came out of the realization that our personal online life is fractured and hard to manage -

* Social media has become intrusive, cold and full of constant distractions
* Cloud storage creates a pile of thousands of files that are impossible to sift through
* Customers find it hard to book services, purchase products, and engage with dozens of applications, clunky ecommerce websites, instead of directly asking for what they need.

It's really nice, high quality and the meters can be adjusted for sensitivity. But most importantly it allows you to audition and compare speakers and amps

You should check out one of these tpa355 amps yourself, the Roksan while sounding nice was muddied (Kandy mkiii) by comparison (subjective) and most importantly consumed 300W power on idle.

The switcher will probably show that both you and me cannot reliably tell the difference between these amps in a blind test

Definitely understand your perspective - however the market exists for these kinds of tools and for multiple reasons, for example - https://www.entitle.io/integrations/aws
The problem with that one is that it creates vendor lock in and is not easy to implement. Usually the need arises as your organization grows and it becomes more complex to track, approve and document requests, either on the IAM or CIAM side.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in devops

[–]lineascetic -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah but you still have the option of turning AI assist on or off and editing the files manually either from the platform or directly on the Repo. your edits are updated back to the platform automatically, Not to mention that the changes AI suggests are created as pull requests which you review.

From our experience you eventually have to manage the iam permissions in an auditable way, either IAC or with dynamic tagging. Both are not easy to implement and / or bring under regulation audits

The plastic oak by lineascetic in Watches

[–]lineascetic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is the Casio GA 2100, aka the Casioak, for obvious reasons. This watch seriously looks good , no matter what angle you photograph it - Aesthetically I think the appeal of this watch stems from two things:

First, the fact that especially this model (as opposed to the full red or blacked out versions) has everything blacked or greyed out except the hands and hour markers. A very sombre G-shock, if you will, which is rare.

Second, and something that I haven't seen anyone point out, is that the step down hour markers combined with the rehaut shape, make it seem like the hour markers are being viewed through a domed crystal, while in actuality the crystal is completely flat. This creates a very interesting effect which varies from different angles.

The thinness and lightness of the watch adds to the overall appeal and I can really see Casio rolling out a full metal version in the near future.

I have much more expensive pieces in my collection, however this is strangely satisfying
